I came here this morning for the first time ever after waking up and feeling deep loneliness. I decided to take myself out on a date (something I don’t usually do) I put my faith in the Lord before work. I am more introverted so going out and trying new places alone is always a huge step of faith for me. I left the house expecting nothing besides sitting alone and enjoying delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. I asked God to accompany me and give me strength.
When I arrived, there was a 25-30 minute wait outside and the hostess was incredibly sweet. She had a radiant smile and made me feel welcome. I told her it was just me and she gave me a waiting estimate. I told her I didn’t care where I sat, I would be happy with whatever was available when it became available. I told her it was worth the wait.
A woman I didn’t know poked her head out of the door and said, “excuse me but did you say you were a single? I’m a single too and have a table for two and I’m wondering if you’d like to sit with me instead of having to wait?” I felt peace with God in her invitation and said yes, even though I am an introvert and meeting new people can be difficult for me. I put my trust in the Lord when I said yes. I was blown away by her act of kindness and the experience was surreal for me.
I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and a side of bacon, and the food was incredibly delicious. The pancakes were sooo soft and fluffy, they could be eaten without a knife. The texture was sensational and the flavor was right on point. A beautiful burst of lemon and the blueberry compote paired decadently with everything. The bacon was cooked beautifully and tasted delicious.
Myself and the lady that invited me to sit with her ended up having one of the most deep, therapeutic, honest, real conversations I have had in a long time. I was blown away by her kindness and consideration. Not only did I eat delicious food at a beautiful cozy cafe but God decided to bless me with amazing, genuine unexpected connection with another single woman. She is much older than me and offered a lot of wisdom. We shared laughter and emotional moments. It was truly special.
The staff were unbelievably kind and attentive. I felt so welcomed and appreciated. I didn’t get to meet the owner but wanted to express gratitude for her cafe and delicious food. Little does she know her cafe provided an answered prayer for me today. I woke up feeling deeply lonely and asked God to help me and left the house to try this cafe expecting nothing but to sit alone and eat. What God did at this cafe is an incredible testimony. He is faithful. He provides.
The kind woman I sat with insisted on paying for my meal and we hugged goodbye outside and had a beautiful departure together. I will never forget her and I will absolutely be back asap to sweet Mimi’s to try more of the...
Read moreOver the years every time I visit I've attempted to come here. 3rd time was a charm I guess. It probably helped that we came on a Monday as weekends seem almost impossible, unless you wake up and get the 1st seating. It's a tiny place with less than 12 tables. There's a few outdoor tables which look to be a new addition from pandemic days. First things first, check Google for current wait times. It's pretty accurate. It said 15mins and when I put my name down the hostess quoted us 30mins. It ended up being 20mins. You add your name and phone# to a waitlist with the hostess and come back when they text you. It's great because you can go walk around Main St or go to the Library like we did. Secondly, try to use the bathroom before you go. As mentioned it's a very small place and I witnessed a line for the restroom. Lucky for us the library had clean bathrooms for us and the kids. Literally just around the corner. Third you must order the classics such as the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the delicious cheddar home fries. They were heavenly and light with the blueberry compote. I can see why she beat Bobby Flay! Lastly be patient and you shall be rewarded! Enjoy every bite of the food. It leaves you satisfied and full but doesn't weigh you down because everything is made fresh with in season ingredients. Even the side order of fresh fruits for the kids were Summer sweet. We were treated so nice. The kids butts were too short at the bench seating so we asked if they had boosters for them, then they wanted SO MUCH ketchup for dipping their home fries and scrambled eggs. They have light roast and medium roast coffee, and I tried both. Both were delicious and went well with any meal. Refills are unlimited! Which the owner kept on top of as moms of kids run on coffee. Service and accommodations for the little ones were...
Read moreMy wife and I took our two sons out for breakfast at a popular local spot. When we arrived, the place was bustling with customers, and we were told there would be about a 40-minute wait to be seated. Rather than just standing around, we decided to take a leisurely stroll around the area, which made the wait feel much shorter and gave us a chance to explore a bit.
Once we were seated, we looked over the menu and placed our orders. I opted for French toast, while the kids went for a classic combination of bacon and pancakes. My wife decided on a blueberry pancake, which sounded too good to pass up. When our food arrived, it was clear that the wait had been well worth it. Everything was cooked to perfection—the French toast had just the right balance of crispiness and softness, the pancakes were fluffy and rich, and even the coffee was exceptional. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and I knew right away that this was a place we’d want to visit again.
Before heading home, we decided to stop back in and pick up a few pastries for the road. The selection was tempting, and we chose a mix of different treats to enjoy on the drive back. Just like our breakfast, the pastries did not disappoint—they were fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to wrap up our visit. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I’d gladly return to this spot...
