Tea is always good. Tea in general, anyone can make good tea. I personally like the Spicy mint tea with ginger & honey but mine taste way better at home when I make it myself. The employees are not friendly. They are frauds! I purchased a tea brewer saturday, I did not want a display brewer because their shelves were dusty! When I turned my back to purchase my 2ounce tea the woman grabbed the display brewer anyway and sold it to me. At the time I didn't know until I got home and opened the box. The brewer was dented! Maybe because it fell off the display shelf. It also was missing a piece to the brewer, AND the plastic wrap was at the bottom if box, NOT around the brewer. They didn't give me a receipt. The next day sunday, I came back to return it and the manager (Asian looking lady) rinsed the brewer then proceeded to say it was "used" so I couldn't get my refund. I asked that she print out my receipt since they pulled up that I bought it. They said NO it would take a long time. I don't understand how pressing print will take a long time. Then I asked if she can show me their return policy & the manager says She could email it but it would take overnight and that she will not email right away. I was very respectful to the workers and once I saw how they roll their I called the police. When they came the store "owner" comes out and proceeded to say I used it and that he saw her open it in front of me when he wasn't on site. He pulled one of the police officers around the corner to explain. I dont see what the secret was. But he somehow got the officers to work in his favor. How RACIST! They couldnt even give me a newer one for exchange because she said they would have to order a gift basket. The manager tries to convince me that there was no piece missing that the picture on the box just makes it seem that way. Basically I got a police report and I will be taking them to court! I will be suing them. It's not worth buying tea from them. DO NOT GO HERE, they are FRAUDS!!! And They...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHaving recently moved into White Plains, Iāve been checking out local businesses near my apartment. A few days ago I noticed the Hastings Tea & Coffee cafe on Main Street and couldnāt help but appreciate how happy their customers limbed who were seated at their outside tables enjoying their drinks. I decided that I had to drop by for an almond latte. When I walked into the cafe I was surprised to see that in addition to the impressive coffee, tea and desserts, they also sold bottles of wine snd even have a wine of the month club! While I was there, I watched how dedicated the staff was in helping their other customers and when I asked Jay if he could help me buy a bottle of wine, he suggested I speak to Bill who was more educated on their wines. After spending about twenty minutes learning about their wines, I ended up purchasing a Spanish from Portugal and a red from France.
Iām Not a connoisseur if wines but my friends were blown away by my selection and while I had only gone into the cafe for their coffee, I had discovered a great new go to place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe coffee is ok, not great. They insist on putting in milk/cream for you, which I never understand.
But the truly galling thing is that they refused to give me change for a dollar to feed the meter (yes, I still feed the meter instead of using an app).
Even as a paying customer they refused to give me four quarters for a dollar. I could understand their refusal if I came in off the street and asked for change, but I have been a regular patron over time, and all I needed this instance was help in getting change to park legally.
Even more infuriating than that, the young store manager on duty was abrupt, arrogant and imperious, as if he owned the place. I asked for contact information for the owners to share my opinion, but the manager was insistent that the owners are well aware of this issue, and they are entirely unreachable.
Perhaps the owners will read their public reviews, and if so, they will learn that I will now take my business to the cafe at Barnes and Noble across the street, where they have great coffee, and give...
