This place needs a lot of work to stay in business. First the good: Food was tasty. Not great but pretty good. Spring rolls were crispy, noodles were well seasoned, etc. Can't complain much. Not the bad: Wait service was extremely slow. They only had 2 waitresses for a Saturday night and one of them was mostly MIA. The waitresses bussed, cashiered, took orders (incorrectly most of the time), and answered phones. They did too much at the expense of the customers. We waited a long time to order drinks, get the food, and was never asked if everything was alright. Plus our appetizers came out with the main dishes. My drink order didn't come so we had to remind the wait staff. That front door... It lets in cold air a lot because main Street is a wind tunnel. The hydraulics make it really easy to keep the door open and the staff are not good at keeping them closed. We had to get up ourselves many times to close the door or else we will freeze. Annoying to say the least. Menu items are not marked as spicy. Seems minor but it's a huge oversight. My wife's pork belly dish was good but very spicy. She's not a fan of spicy. We couldn't ask the staff to remake it due to time constraints and the fact that she was too hungry to wait. This was disappointing. There is no waiting area. Unless you count hanging around tables and diners as a waiting area. You'll have to wait outside for a table if it's full, and good luck if it's cold outside. Overall I will not come here again unless we're desperate for some food. Even if it's empty inside, I have little faith that the staff care very much and the food is...
Read moreWent for a business lunch today/Tue. The place wasn't busy, with perhaps one more table occupied at 12:30 when I arrived. My first impression as soon as I sat at my table (window table to the left of the entrance) was that the table surface was quite sticky as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Not sure about other people, but I do not like sticky tables so I asked the staff to wipe the table and told them it was sticky. Instead of wiping the table which truly needed a cleaning and a deep cleaning, she proceeds to bring me and my guest a paper placemat. I didn't complain, thanked her for it and continued with our lunch. I had the lunch special of Spicy Thai Basil with Shrimp. Nothing special to write home about. But the whole time while eating lunch I kept thinking about the unclean table and how that perhaps translates to the cleanliness of the overall restaurant as well as the kitchen and the food. We finished eating and paid the check, but stayed about 5 minutes more continuing our conversation. The waitress positioned herself at the podium looking directly at us and staring in our general direction with the vibe as if it's time to go. Again, only one other table was occupied in the whole restaurant. I glanced over in her direction to see if she was really staring us down or just hanging at her station, which she wasn't during the course of our meal. I determined that she was really staring us down. Not a good first impression and I wouldn't go again. (PS: I don't generally write reviews. Good or bad. Unless, someone really made an impression on me. ...
Read moreJust ate lunch at Noodles Plus and it was a delight! The lunch specials come with a choice of spring roll, chive dumpling, or pork pot sticker. I tried the chive dumpling, which was wonderfully springy and paired perfectly with a tasty dipping sauce, along with a light lettuce salad on the side.
The lunch menu features classic Thai dishes like Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, though I noticed there’s no Pad See Ew. You can add chicken, tofu, beef, or shrimp to your dishes; we both opted for beef in our noodles—Pad Thai for me and Drunken Noodles for her. The portions were generous and absolutely delicious!
The restaurant is cozy and quite popular during lunch hours, especially with the nearby office crowd in downtown White Plains. Don’t expect a leisurely lunch, as there are only about 8 tables inside, plus a few outside. We loved our meals and can’t wait to return for both lunch and dinner when we have more...
