We stopped after a Baseball game with our party of 6 at 415pm on a Sunday when Becky's had just opened. There were about 6 other customers at the end of the bar near the kitchen. I directed our party to sit near there and the kitchen so that the server wouldn't have to go out of their way to serve our party. We all sat down and a young man came over and told us we'd have to go to the bar to order drinks. He asked us if we wanted food, we said yes and so he gave us menu's. We then noticed no one coming to our table for food order, so the young man again told us we have to "order from the bar". I was litterally SHOCKED. No table service??? I'm speechless. There's two workers, yet they don't want to serve us???...but I bet they want to get paid and receive tips. Interesting. what a sad sad DISGRACE. No one saw MONEY walking in the door...they saw no one. Nothing. My party was THIRSTY after we walked from the stadium and we were all going to order something from the menu. I walked up to the bar and told the young man I'd like a glass of water please. He almost wouldn't even pour a glass of water!! Until he heard me ask if it was too difficult to pour a glass of water. The "bartender" didn't even acknowledge us AT ALL. WE LEFT. So sad. Very very sad. A beautiful establishment with NO THOUGHT to sales, service or common courtesy. THE HEART OF THE BAR AND RESTAURANT INDUSTRY. We had money to spend, we would have left generous tips. But the workers there didn't want to be bothered. They must be used to getting paid for doing NOTHING. I've heard good things about Becky's. Those images of good food and good times have been shattered. I doubt I'll ever go back or recommend this as a great place to go spend time or money. A smile and a little courtesy, isn't that something we all want? No one's buying lazy and rude. Sorry...
Read moreIt's a classic dive bar. Don't go here expecting any haute cuisine or fancy drinks. Actually just stick to beer when here. Never had a good mixed drink and the wine is pretty cheap. Prices for liquor are a little higher than I'd expect. So stick to beer and you'll be happy. The 3 dollar Dortmunder special is great.
I personally really like the burger it's a good classic burger. The curly fries are great. The pierogies are also good. I don't particularly care for their wing sauces though.
The people watching is amazing. It's such a confluence of people that can only exist in Cleveland. Theater people, cops, college students, business people, and people you just go like damn that person is a walking embodiment of Cleveland.
The decor is pretty old school. The bar top itself is old and weathered but it feels appropriate. The stories it could tell. It has darts and pinball.
Daily specials and student discounts are all great.
All in all its a good time with good beer, decent food, and a fun...
Read moreI went there last Friday and was excited because I haven't been in a while and I wanted to share this spot with a coworker. We went for Happy Hour and ordered drinks and food. We kept asking about the Happy Hour and was told we were fine. Things were going fine until the end when we got our check and our drinks were not under happy hour special not happy but ok. I got home ready to eat my macaroni and perch dinner only to eat several bites before I found a HAIR IN MY DINNER! I called to talked to the owner and Amber called and was the most rudest..disrespectful manager I have ever had a chance to speak with over a food issue. She offered me a portion of my dinner stating it was on the macaroni part, even though I never told her which part the hair was found. She then wrote down my number and I was told that I would receive a call from the owner. It is Thursday and I have tried to call and no one has tried to call me. This was a disgusting experience and I will never eat...
