Quick summary: Idk what the food tastes like simply because the wait time was pretty extensive. Idk any taco place that doesn't automatically offer endless chips and salsa for free. Idk of any bar that doesn't offer to remake a drink if the drink is disliked.
Long story: Nonetheless, my bf and I walked inside and we were not greeted by anyone. We were highly confused as to whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We sat ourselves and waited 10 minutes before a waitress approached. She wasn't interested in taking our order. Rather she joked about Cleveland's colors since we were wearing orange and black (I'm from MI, he's from GA). We didn't get the joke, no fault of hers, but our order wasn't taken afterward and we weren't asked about our beverage choice. Another 5 mins passed before we were asked what we wanted to drink. We gave our drinks and about 10 mins later we received em. My drink tasted like watered down lemonade and it was supposed to be El Classico. My bf didn't like his drink. In the meantime, we were informed that wait time for food would be another 40 mins so we should place our orders pronto. After comparing food portions and price range, we decided we would try a different restuarant. I took the tiniest sip of my drink so much so that there was no observable difference from the original fill line. However my bf took two swallows of his drink. Enough to notice a difference but not more than half, not even close to the drink being half empty. Anyway, upon departing we were asked why we were leaving and if we were going to pay for the drinks. We explained our reasons and didn’t care to pay for a drink that was barely touched, and both drinks that we disliked. The guy insisted we pay because of the time it took to make the drinks. They were simple drinks that took 10 mins to make. My bf paid for his drink and we left.
For me, it was the lack of hospitality provided. Almost as if we were in the wrong for the drinks tasting terrible. And we weren't rude about it. We merely stated that we were going to try a different restuarant. Then we were questioned about why we didn't like it, why we were leaving, and told we needed to pay. Very unusual and...
Read moreWe weren't expecting much from a taco place on W 9th, but the tacos were surprisingly good! They are all soft shelled, except for the Dorado, which is fried. The draft list is pretty small, but it is supplemented with cans and tequilas.
Of the five different types of tacos two of us had, the beer chicken and the Dorado really jumped out as far and away better than the rest. (We tried the Beer Chicken, Chicken & Mango, Peanutbutter & Steak (not a typo), Taco Dorado (both the chorizo and beef), and the Al Pastor.) She swore by the Peanutbutter and Steak taco, but I cannot vouch for it as I didn't want to interfere with the lingering flavor of the Beer Chicken, which was just amazing.
To top it all off, everything was extremely reasonably priced- tacos are either $3 or $4 each, beers were equally cheap. The staff was fun and attentive (and handled a drunk guy complaining about his tab expertly and without incident). When you need a late-night taco downtown, it is hard to beat Camino! But if you are a drunk guy that's going to complain about his tab,...
Read moreFirst time going to this place will definitely be my last. Ordered like 12 tacos steak, chicken, and barbacoa. Flour, and corn tortillas. None of the meat was seasoned it was all bland... ordered the food to go.. watched our food sit there once it came up for a few minutes. The girl who took our order was very non chalant. And pointed to us like oh it's there food over there when they finally decided to give us our food $60 worth of food and it was all horrible. And to top it all off only 2 sauce cups were given for 12 tacos... highly disappointed. The atmosphere is nice but the food and service doesn't match. The male server was definitely doing his job well I'll give credit where it's due... but he unfortunately was not...
