Good morning. I was in the coffee shop this morning around 9:45am-10:15ish and had a negative exchange with one of the employees that I would like to discuss with someone. My boyfriend and I have been coming in pretty frequently since August when we discovered the coffee shop while staying in a hotel downtown when the power went out for a number of days. The customer service has been great each time we came in with the exception of day.
When we came in this morning, there was a pretty decent line, which isn’t unusual for the time and day of the coffee shop. When it was our time to order our drinks, the person at the counter didn’t greet us, but just stared at us until we awkwardly made our drink orders. When I received my gingerbread Chai, it tasted completely different than it did on Thursday when we were in. I was made aware a few months ago that one of the employees makes the in-house chai and that sometimes when they run out they have to use a store-bought one, which is normally fine for me. Today’s drink though had so much spice and sweetener that I was unable to actually drink it. I waited back in line and when I got back to the counter-person, I had explained that it tastes different than Thursday and that I’m unable to drink it because of how much spice and sweetener was in it. She scoffed (literally) and rolled her eyes at me when I asked if it could be remade. She again mentioned that they were out of the house-made Chai and that they wouldn’t remake the drink. I told her that I need the drink remade because I can’t drink it how it was made, and then she talked with the Barista that was making the drinks and told her that she can remake the drink with less syrup in it but the girl said that it’s going to taste exactly the same, which I then asked for a refund then since the drink wasn’t going to be made in a way that I could drink it. She then scoffed and rolled her eyes again and said that she can’t give me a refund because she doesn’t know how to do it. She then said she would remake the drink with less syrup, but at this point with how she was speaking to me, her body language with the scoffing, raising her hands up, eye rolls, I strictly just wanted a refund at this point. She partnered with the Barista working and she came over to see if she could give me a refund but she didn’t know how to do it either so they gave me a $15 gift card under something called a “Jason Comp”. I honestly don’t know if I want to come back after this experience due to how I was practically bullied by one of your staff members over a drink that I just wanted to be remade so I could enjoy it.
If possible, I would like someone to contact me to talk this...
Read moreSuch a great experience! We absolutely love coffee shop experiences especially since coffee is one of our favorite things in life. We went for a free Yelp elite event. The vibe inside is super cool with a really nice Cleveland mural on the wall and plants surrounding the interior. The place is small and can get packed when it gets busy.
The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. We got some oat milk lattes and croissants and they sprinkle cute hearts on top of the lattes which is a nice touch. We have been spoiled by Heartwood coffee's amazing in house baked croissants but the croissants at Lionheart were decent.
This is a great place to get work done since the vibe is really cool. The only issue is getting to the place is extremely difficult because parking is non existent since it's downtown Cleveland which seems like the area is always under construction and always has police orders to not park in the streets. Once we got to the shop it was definitely worth it. If we are ever back walking around downtown Cleveland, this would be the place to get...
Read moreThe coffee and the dirty chais are amazing probably the best in Cleveland, but the service is lacking. This isn't the first time the service there has been bad, but I keep going back because the coffee is so good. I went there this morning and it was super busy but the line was moving quick and when I got up to order the cashier was very short with me but again they were busy my first drink came out in about 2 minutes along with my sandwich my second drink I waited about 10 minutes and I asked if they had or were still making it and the barista looked at me and said well you didn't have two drinks you didn't pay for it we don't have it. And I was like I paid for a dirty chai it was on my bill and i'm missing another food item as well and she continued to argue until they looked up the check and saw that I was indeed missing a drink I paid for. They made the drink for me and handed it to me and said have a good day in snarky attitude as if this entire situation...
