Former employee: I have no particular bone to pick, this was over a year ago now; I quit and was not fired. Working conditions were terrible. I do not mean that in an overly "woe is me" manner or general employment complaint, but rather, there was frequent rumor of the owner manually reducing logged employee hours as to pay us less. Obviously, this is illegal. I never noticed this myself, though, this was also my first real job; I never tallied my own hours, didn't think to compare against my pay, and assumed any discrepancies were due to tax withholdings.
The owner, in general, was frugal to the point of absurdity. I understand that business can be difficult, especially during the COVID years in which I worked, but asking us to reuse (undrank) lemonade cups for other orders was absurd. A refused to do this.
Beyond the highly, highly stressful work environment, featuring constant staffing shortages often supplemented by longer employee hours rather than cut business hours, no-call; no-shows were a chronic problem. Despite this, the people I did manage to work with were, almost, always a pleasure. They are the only reason this review is not one star.
Maybe things have changed. It has been a long time and a lot has happened since, I do not know, but that is simply my experience. I don't write all this because I am disgruntled, I simply think other people should be aware of the things I went through as an employee before either purchasing food or applying for a job at...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience I had. Customer service was immaculate, I was greeted as soon as I walked in- all employees were wearing masks, there was social distancing marks on the floor, there was a glass for protection at the register I love to see it- female greeted me asked how my day was and took my complicated order without issue. Inspecting the area, everything was sparkly clean; not a lot of customers at this time it was like 3:40ish on a Thursday so I had all of the employees attention. I was able to watch them make my food and had a conversation with the same female about the craziness of the pandemic and other small talk my whole experience here cheered me up so much. So many fast food places don’t see the importance of customer service, it takes such little effort and can really affect how your day goes and keep returning. I am a regular customer and I will always come here when I get a chance because of this customer service. On top of that, my food is always fresh, hot, straight off the grill, and goes right into my mouth. I love Charleys, but not solely for their food, for the attention to detail, for the lovely employees, and for actually following their motto and giving a great...
Read moreWe like Charleys and we usually go to Fashion Fair one and it was our first time at Clovis Charleys. There were five people waiting for their orders and there was no line for the cashier so we ordered one combo. Well, we had to wait for more than 30 min. Other customers were complaining, too. I understand that they had online orders but these people who ordered online also had to wait and were complaining, as well. There were five people working/standing behind the counter and there were more workers behind the doors but it seemed very disorganized. (One worker was wearing a Chipotle’s shirt… Did she come from Chipotle to help them? ) Several customers were complaining because their orders were wrong or they had missing items. Then about the food. The sandwich was okay but we felt like the Fashion Fair ones were better. The fries were very soggy and salty. Hopefully they will improve the system but I saw similar reviews from a long time ago so it seems like it...
