Today is my daughters 14th birthday and she loves coming here for the fried rice and to watch the chef entertain. Today our chef got to our table and immediately started cooking no fire, no guest interaction, just kept his head down and cooked our food, our chef was at our table no longer than 15 minutes. He served our plates, cleaned his grill and left without a word. We all ordered extra rice and i asked the waitress if we could get some more spicy sauce cause our chef didn’t offer any extra as they normally do. The waitress said we have to charge you an extra fee per sauce, at this point i’m extremely frustrated and upset i ask our waitress to speak to a manager.
A hispanic female spoke with me about my above concerns, she stated their chefs have the discretion to not perform to the guests with the fire and utensils performances and they could not accommodate my request for the hot spicy sauce even though i explained to her that i wasn’t offered any extra sauce before the chef left. I explained to her the table next to us had an awesome chef he was performing tricks, interacting with his guests, laughing and having a good time. I explained to this manager that i just wanted to make my kids day special because it was her birthday and she had been waiting all week to eat here. I told the manager i usually bring extra cash to tip the chef in cash cause they’re usually really good but i was not going to leave a tip because of the horrible service we received.
She explained that she would talk to the head chef about the chef not interacting with guests, but her attitude and body language suggested that she really didn’t take my concerns seriously and i saw her laughing with the girls at the register as i walked to pay. Very unprofessional
My bill was $170 and to make matters worse i left my food behind after i paid.
Take note that if you’re planning on visiting this restaurant for the lunch specials the chefs are not required to do the fire show and performance.
just wish i would’ve known this before wasting money here.
sorry for the rant just very disappointed and upset we visited the sierra vista location on 07-29-22 at 2pm family of 5 by the room where they take the dishes.
Our waitress was amazing, she...
Read moreNot really the type to post reviews because I feel annoying but last night my partner and I came in to eat for dining and sat for over 40 minutes with our waiter never coming back to our table past serving us drinks, let alone even coming to the area we were sat. 20 minutes in we placed our menus and empty glasses at the edge of the table to signal anyone we were ready to order and half a dozen staff walked by, multiple times even, and never said anything to us. I tried to ask another waiter who was very attentive to the table next to us for help and was ignored (although I just could’ve been too quiet, if it wasn’t their fault I apologize). 45 minutes after being sat we decided to go to the front desk and ask to pay for our drinks and leave. I work in customer service myself and know being nice and patient gets you further so I initially offered to pay and even said sorry myself as I don’t like to cause a fuss. But all we had were two drinks, and I’m not too knowledgeable about this restaurant’s comping policies but I feel like it was unreasonable to charge us the full $10 for no service for nearly an hour. I hope this doesn’t sound entitled but it was inconveniencing as other restaurants around us were near closing. If our waiter was swamped I understand and don’t necessarily blame them (although I don’t know if they were considering they were standing at the counter talking to staff when we were paying :/) but for multiple staff to walk past us numerous times and not say anything despite looking at our table I think it’s irresponsible and a poor reflection on the service as a whole. The staff at the desk were more far more concerned with finding out who the waiter was (they didn’t tell us their name, but either way I wasn’t gonna throw them under the bus) than resolving any of our concerns and, as I said, charged us the full amount for the drinks. If that’s an unreasonable thing to complain about I apologize, but it was a poor experience and I know that’s...
Read moreWe really wanted sushi before our movie and my mom suggested we come here since it’s in the same plaza. When we were getting close to the plaza we noticed the street lights were out as well as the power being out in the plaza. We still had over an hour for the movie and my mom figured let’s try and see if we can still eat. Lol. I thought for sure with no power they wouldn’t be able to serve us. But the staff there were welcoming and a team of troopers. Since we knew the power was out we figured let’s just sit at the sushi bar and do the raw options. Luckily they did have shrimp tempura ready for some rolls so the chef suggested the red dragon roll. My fiancé is not a fan of mayo so we got the spicy mayo on the side and the crab was mixed with siracha instead of the mayo. What a hit. Oh and I almost forgot they started us off with a cucumber and crab salad in rice vinegar that was excellent. We also had ordered sake nigori (milky sake) and my mom ordered her Cabernet (red wine) my fiancé ordered the chef sushi choice with California roll. And I ordered the masago with quail egg nigiri (it’s a personal fave) I was in luck because they had the habanero masago. My mom wanted a little more so we ordered the red dragon the same way again since it was so good the first time. The power finally turned back on as we were finishing up. My mom also ordered tuna sashimi. I honestly wanted to order more but we were stuffed after finishing up everything. We ordered a milky sake to go and genuinely enjoyed our food, drinks and service. Again I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating and servicing us in the dark. We held our phones flash lights up for the chefs to be able to make our food. Sushi dining in the dark was a great experience. And I can’t...
