The Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Clovis

I've been to this location twice since they opened and the service has been poor both times.

On the first visit, shortly after the location opened, it took much longer than the other locations to get my food out to me, which I chalked up to growing pains for a new location.

On the most recent visit on 11/22/2020, I had attempted to use a gift card that was purchased for me at the Riverpark location as a birthday gift. Without confirming with another staff member I was informed by the cashier that the gift card could only be used at the location that was printed on the card, which was the Hanford location, despite my informing her that it was purchased at a Fresno location, not Hanford.

After requesting to speak with whomever was running the shift, I was informed by said employee that their location was unable to accept the gift card due to their register system not being set up to accept them at this time.

There was no signage posted anywhere in the location stating that they were unable to accept their own, Chicken Shack-branded, gift cards at this time.

I would personally advise, based on my experiences, to avoid this location due to poor service.

Ordered on 3/19/21 we ordered the burger and 12 piece wings. While the fries were very tasty and enjoyable the burger was served without any condiments, which would have left me with with very unenjoyable burger had I not been home, I added cheese, mayo, mustard and BBQ sauce. The burger was repairable but the chicken, although it looked excellent, and had a great texture as far as crispness of "fried chicken" it had almost no taste, even after searching for a taste. We ordered 4 different sauces which did add taste but could not make up for the lack of taste in the chicken. I ate it a 2nd time, this time adding salt to no avail. This company should really consider adding some type of survey slips so that they can refine there product. If you are called the Chicken Shack then your "chicken " should be dam good not bland and leaving you not want to eat it again, I have pieces left and don't want them.

This is an honest review, not to hurt the company but to possibly improve the product. I don't like to see companies not strive...especially in these ...

We ordered a salad, #2 fries and Mac and cheese. The salad was fine, the tenders were well cooked and the fries were good crisp and had a good taste. The macaroni and cheese was burnt, as soon as I opened it I saw black specks, I looked at it and it seemed to be throughout I tried a spoonful and it was definitely burnt. Tasted like burnt food, I mentioned it to the cashier who offered to give me a new one or my money back. I figured it would be from the same pot so I asked for my money back. Later a different cashier asked what was wrong so she can make a report I told her it was burnt and showed her the black specks on the spoon( the other cashier had taken the container) she looked at the spoon and said it was black pepper, I know the difference between black pepper and the taste of burned food. I hope they tasted the Mac and cheese and threw it out. Just disappointed that I was made to seem like I would lie about something like that....
