Tried out the New Mexican spot in town. It was very good.

They start you off with bean dip and chips and salsa. We ordered the queso, but we didn’t really need it.

I ordered the grande combo, I believe and it was a chili relleno and a chimichanga. It came with rice and beans. The chili relleno was giant and very good. The chimichanga was just “ok”.

My wife ordered the chili relleno ala carte. It was giant. We ended up taking the equivalent (her left over and mine) to a full chili relleno.

The bill was not that expensive considering how costs have gone up to eat out. We saved a bit ordering the wife’s meal ala carte.

Marco was our server. He said he was the best waiter….he was. He was very attentive and the food came out super quick considering the restaurant was packed just after the horse auction across the street. Lots of large parties in here.

The noise level was a bit loud, but the acoustics of the building are probably to blame.

Overall, it was a good...

Big disappointment!

Although it is a nice place with nice staff and good mexican background music, the food was VERY bad!! A 20$ taco dish was served cold and mushy, and when asked about it, the waiter apologied and took the dish (he was really quick and helpful, hens the 3 stars for service). Five minutes later, he comes back with the same dish, just as i left it, only a bit warmer.. it was warmed up under a light or something similar.. looked bad, tasted even worse, the "beef" was something unrecognizable, dark strange cubes.. We declined the taco dish, the manager came over, showed sympathy, and promised something about the next time we come in... (won't happen!). We were not charged for this dish. We both felt stomach pain after returning home, I am not saying it is necessarily connected, but...

In short, it was a very bad experience.

Im sorry, but I can't recommend this...

I want to first thank the owners for choosing Cody Wyoming to open Rancho Chico especially downtown because it adds to our already awesome downtown scene and definitely gives it more flavor and more choices for those visiting and for those who live here. We have eaten at a couple of Mexican restaurants here in town and I feel like they were overpriced and underwhelming. Finally a Mexican restaurant with excellent food and excellent service and very reasonable cost. Rancho Chico is going to be a huge hit here and with tourist season underway I already can tell you there's going to be a huge wait line just to get into the restaurant because this is the place you will want to eat at for Mexican food here in Cody. So thank you to the owners and the staff. We will be repeat customers often. Mucho...

Ok, I've lived in Cody for sometime now and I've seen a few Mexican restaurants come and go, with a lot of folks here saying they had good Mexican food. Well not one of them I went to ever did, sub par at best. I've been in quite a few Mexican restaurants (some in Mexico) so I think I'm a pretty good judge of what is good Mexican food. Rancho Chico hits the mark pretty darn well. Everyone we take there agrees, The best Mexican restaurant to come to Cody in quite a while. If you're a local or just in town visiting, try this place, I thank you will agree. BTW, if ya like spicy, ask for the spicy salsa, it's really good!

The service was very friendly, and fast. The atmosphere is festive and bright. The food however, was subpar and lacked the bold spices flavors of peppers, tomatoes, and onions. The rice for example was mediocre. It was a little mushy, bland and tasted like it was out of a frozen aisle at best. The taco almost stale, not to mention the meat inside. While the presentation is appealing and the proportions very balanced, I would not eat Mexican food here. I get no pleasure out of unfavorable reviews, but this meal was not comparable to places I've eaten Mexican food by far.
