I recently visited College Station for a History Conference at Texas A&M. I stayed at The George Hotel and they had a bar past the front desk. I tried a couple of drinks out in the 2 days. I tried the Sour Hour and the Famous 1791 Old Fashion. The Sour Hour drink was recommended by the male bartender that was working on Thursday night. He was very knowledgeable and kind. It wasn't too strong, great ratio from alcohol to juices. I will get that again. On Friday night, I went down to the bar again to try another drink. This time, I can't leave College Station without trying the 1791 Old Fashioned. All I can say is this particular drink is in my top 3 hands down and I had many old fashions in my time working at my current job (on my day offs, of course). They put a teaspoon of brown sugar to tone down the strength of the Whiskey (Buffalo Trace) but not for the Whiskey to lose it's purpose. I will most certainly get it again. They also have a food menu just in case you want to order something to eat. Next time I'm in College Station and staying at The George Hotel, I'm coming back. Good job everyone that worked, this past Thursday and Friday night.

Passion Star Martini & an Old Fashioned to end our dinner date. Super cute area. Valet was under $6. Was super quiet and dark inside the bar itself so we enjoyed our drinks outside by the pool. My hubs loves an old fashioned and I love a frothy martini - drinks were good. (Ran us about $40 with tip included)

Fantastically creative cocktails that you're unlikely to find anywhere else. You can get any classic cocktail or have your bartender give it some personality. I had a wonderful time and met some interesting people while enjoying a Oaxacan Old Fashioned (mezcal and tequila old fashioned).

Best bar in College Station/Bryan, don't hesitate to visit. Amazing people they take great care of you. The bar is my personal favorite, awesome bar tenders, great drinks, best vibes and the greatest place to chill. Since i've moved here the bar/hotel lobby is most definitely my go to place to chill and relax. If Hugo is behind the bar you are in for a treat. Even if your not staying you need to check the bar out! I can't say enough in regards to all my experiences here, It's a...

Hugo is hands-down one of the best bartenders around. Every Thursday, I look forward to stopping by 1791 Whiskey Bar just to catch up with him. He’s not only incredibly knowledgeable about the drinks, but he’s also warm, personable, and makes you feel like a friend the moment you sit down. His attention to detail and genuine conversation make the whole experience stand out. If you’re here on a Thursday, make sure you say hi to Hugo, you won’t be...
