We went tonight for the first time and ordered four bobas. I put the straw in mine and the seam of the cup ripped open and drink exploded all over me. I went inside and asked for a new cup and to refill what was lost. The manager had said no (we were in the restroom). So, I asked to speak to her. I showed her my shirt and invited her to see the drink all over my car so she could see I hadn't drank it. She rolled her eyes and looked SO disrespectful. She didn't even reply to me in words, just slowly poured my drink out and had her mouth open and tongue out like she was annoyed. Then, she went behind the counter with my drink which made me uncomfortable to even drink it at that point. So, I threw the whole thing away. Another one of the bobas was disgusting...Butterfly something. Syrupy and a bad after taste. I sincerely cannot believe the way I was treated tonight and for sure won't return. I can't recommend them at all.
In response to the owner:
You could clearly see the cup was damaged near the top, so not many ounces were missing as I carried it sideways back in to preserve the drink. That has nothing to do with anything.
You are lying about being gracious. You treated me so poorly that I did not trust the drink. I even called to figure out who owned your business because I was so appalled. Do not pretend that you didn't. You have multiple other reviews from patrons stating your treatment of their various situations was also unexpectedly awful. The truth speaks for itself.
Where is your policy listed for customers to plainly see? Why would you have that policy be enforced when the literal integrity of the cup was ripped along the side, obviously having nothing to do with me?
Your reply on here to me shows that you have no true remorse or consideration for your customers at all. I would rage you even lower now if I could. You...

My family ordered 4 different bowls, tacos, and wings. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I had the noodle bowl and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food you get in one bowl! I love the different selection of toppings you can get after choosing your protein as well. The staff was super friendly and accommodated a lot of our requests.
They do have online ordering. It states for Richmond only so I informed them that the Colonial Heights option wasn't there, so she'll (the supervisor that day) apologized and said inform her manager.
As for the complaint about echoes and having to repeat your order, I go through the same issue at Chipotle and Subway because the glass protecting the food makes it difficult for them to hear you. Not to mention they need the fans on to stay cool amongst a lot of hot food. I'm not scoring down for something that is not that serious a downside, in my opinion.
The lighting was great in all areas of the store even on a dreary, rainy day from my observations but we ordered out instead anyway due to family members residing at home. All given food was piping hot including the wings. Since some of their toppings such as lettuce can be cold (like Subway), do not be surprised by this small detail. The heat from my linguine bowl had everything deliciously the same temperature by the time I got home.
For those that are curious, it is very easy to reheat these bowls in the microwave. Not to sure that's recommended, but I did it and had the second half of my meal back to a wonderful temperature again the same day.
Many people are looking past this place because it's new. I personally love it and recommend everyone at least give Zzaam a try for yourself....
Read moreTwo stars due to ambiance and aesthetic. It was my family’s first time there and we were not impressed. It’s a chipotle “build it” style/restaurant hybrid, except no one waits on you. There was one girl attending the counter and another girl attending the register, both lacking any passion and seemed too run down to even fake like they wanted to be there. One of the four of us for a “build your own,” style while the other three ordered “Chef’s Specials.” DO NOT do that as you’ll be finished with your builded bowl before anyone gets their special bowls as they come from the back - which took about 25 minutes to get. We also bought dumplings as an appetizer.. which came out last after a 30 minute wait. The quality of the food is great, which gained them another star, as it looked and tasted like fresh ingredients. However, lacked taste! This really blowed as we probably would’ve gone back there and try it one more time despite the long wait time and poor customer service. We tried the build bowl with beef and this was 3/10 taste: we tried half rice, half noodles and the noodles were tasteless - you’ve been warned, the chicken katsu 3/10 taste: best option as it’s basically fried chicken, a chicken stir fry dish 3/10 taste: somehow the chicken was still tasteless despite the veggies tasting good in the same sauce they fried it all up together in, and chicken ramen 1/10: it literally tasted like watered down chicken broth and the chicken was leather - DO NOT get the ramen. All in all, this restaurant could really flourish if they ramped up their staff and their menu as the ambiance and atmosphere is there. Sadly, we won’t be returning...
