Beyond disappointed! NEVER EVER will I return. Drove almost an hour to dine here and the service was worse than any place I've ever been to. Its absolutely beautiful inside when you walk in. We waited to be seated and then... nothing... the people just looked at us. There were only 2 other tables sat and neither were eating when we came in. About 12 minutes into us sitting a young lady came to ask us about drinks. No hello welcome to such and such just what can I get you to drink. After putting our drink order she immediately left even tho we were ready to order. Another 10 min goes by and she brings cold coffee in a lavass mug with no saucer no cream nothing and tries to walk away again. We say we are ready to order. She tells us she wont be taking our order she's about to go home we will have to wait on our server who is now serving the table that came in after us. I say well dif anyone let her know she was supposed to be serving us the girl said she didnt know. We then waited some more and after awhile we had to flag down another person to say we've been waiting for some time and havent gotten any service. The lady comes and is totally clueless doesnt apologize and takes our order. We sit for another 15 minutes and the same lady comes back to ask me what did you order again? I say nothing if you havent put the order in that I gave you 15 min ago. She tells me a story about to pos going blank even tho I can see the screen from where I'm sitting and can clearly see that there are orders on the screen. I tell her what I ordered and asked if she could ask of it's even been started yet. Remind you there are only 2 other tables of 2 in the restaurant and a 3rd just got sat. So we are sitting looking baffled and upset and what I'm assuming was either theanager or franchise owner come over to us and is very aggressive asking what is the problem with her head cock to the side like we were the problem and I explain what happened and she is steady saying well I sent someone over so you didnt have to wait. But we did so im confused how it helped and the same young lady who refused to take our order is still here walking around. She offers to give us something off but we say no that's fine we just want our food. So we continue waiting and I see the 2 tables that came in AFTER us are now eating biscuits and food so we ask what happened to our biscuits and food... she says well I didn't know you were my table and then forgot your order so it just went in. We asked for the check and left. Went a few doors down to eat then saw the table that came in after us walk out without food too. Idk what is going on up there but the lady who husband is a boxer that is supposed to be in charge need not supervise any thing or body. I literally sag there and watched her do absolutely nothing for 45 min. She let food die in the window because she was sitting talking to the chef who was on the floor for what idk. I saw employees eating and drinking in view of customers. I watched them have 10 min long conversations with each other while not a soul was in the kitchen cooking the food. The ONLY 2 people I seen actually working was the hostess lady who takes care of the plants and a young black male server. The rest of the staff did absolutely nothing but chill and chit chat. And the hostess was the only one who was empathetic to what happened in there. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the menu is well put together but the service is gonna tank the business. It being near empty on a sat around noon should have spoke for itself but I still tried to...

Before heading back to New Jersey, wanted to come back to support this business as we had a pleasurable experience in May when we came down to funeralize my Father.
Five months, and a totally different and unpleasant experience........
We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 1:20 PM. Upon walking in, the Hostess advised us that there would be a 30 minute wait. At that time, I noticed the booth in the far right corner was empty. Not wanting to cause a disturbance or get in the way of other patrons coming in (there is a small area up front that can fill up quickly) we (party of three) waited right outside the front door.
After watching two other sets of patrons that came after us be seated, my Wife checked with the Hostess to see where we were in the queue to be seated. The Hostess said "you're next" to which my Wife asked how long that would possibly take (by this time, we had waited about 40 minutes). The Hostess then told my Wife "they're waiting also" referring to a party of two that had come in after us. After questioning why that applies to us being seated, my Wife asked if she would seat a party of two at a table designated for three or more. The response from the Hostess: "If I have to."
We were standing beside the high table facing the window looking outside, which had been vacated by a party of three and sat empty for a good 15 minutes. While the dishes had been cleared, the table was not cleaned properly and sat......EMPTY.
Next, a party of four that was waiting on the other side who had come in while we were still standing directly in front of the door were seated. How do you randomly seat people without respect to who came in first?
Realizing that this would not fare well, we left in search of another place to eat en route to our destination. As soon as we get on the highway, my Wife's phone rings and the person on the other end (from the restaurant) asked "did you still want the table?" We declined and proceeded upon our way.
It is a sad situation when establishments have individuals that present a sub-par image to the public they wish to support them. Your Hostess succeeded in accomplishing a goal by accident. While it has been said that good service will be told to one or two people, and poor service will be told to the world. As you get ONE SHOT, employees should be prepared to impress at all times. Since that failed to happen, it is now time to inform those thinking about supporting this business to reconsider and pass this business by.
And please keep the "sorry you had a bad experience." We will keep our money. Fair...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a family friend. Upon entrance the vibe was very nice and so was the decor. It is small but they really utilize the space well. Both the young ladies we encountered were good overall. The atmosphere was awesome while playing older R&B hits. I ordered the chicken wings and sweet potato waffle with their special sauce on the side and it was delicious. The chicken was seasoned well, not fried too hard and a nice size. For the waffle, it was infused with sweet potato - sweet to taste but not overwhelmingly sweet and served hot! Loved it for sure! Next was the kids plate of chicken and tater tots which was good also - chicken fried & seasoned very well. My friend had the French toast topped with berries - presentation was beautiful and tasted great. My bestie had the salmon hash and it was presented good as well. Salmon had a nice outer fried seasoned crust with a very moist inside - very good dish. Lastly, we had their hot honey butter biscuits which are very soft inside with a nice crust exterior - baked to perfection with a delicious drizzle.
Now for the reasons I gave only 4 stars instead of 5 is as follows: For the menu, there was a discrepancy where it states for the wing and waffle plate I ordered, you can add a extra wing for $4. The plate comes with 3 wings (which is as expected so no issue there) and my friend wanted to try one. But to be told the menu is a typo and that the wings were sold as 3pcs minimum for $13.00 was disappointing (hope the menus will be updated soon to avoid confusion for other customers). For the waffle, one small container of syrup wasn't enough for my waffle but I declined extra syrup for $1. With that said, it is a little pricey. Now the honey butter biscuits, which are 2 for $6, is probably one of the most reasonably priced item on their menu considering they tasted freshly homemade along with their hot honey butter drizzle sauce I assume. Also, I didn't like receiving my added order of 3 wings first instead of all of my food together. The remaining dishes for myself and the table came a long while later too.
So I know it's a lot to read but I like to give details if you're spending $$ so I hope this was helpful. Overall, this place is worth the experience at least once because it might have been an off day for them so I would visit again if in the mood when I'm back in town with an added review. Last thing I would hope that they consider making bread pudding...
