I come from Wisconsin once a month to visit my fiancé who had gotten many recommendations for here. We were immediately greeted by a nice woman who greeted us with a smile and promptly seated us. We sat for over 15 minutes before our server greeted us. We understood that he was busy, but there was no acknowledgment till he greeted us while he was helping out a large party. Another few minutes and we would have probably left. We ordered all at once, and we had asked if we could sub a brioche bun for a biscuit instead. He told us that wasn’t allowed, and that we could only order as is. I knew the biscuit would fall apart immediately and make a mess. He offered no suggestions as to an item that would have a bun, so I decided to stick with the biscuit. We ordered cocktails and waited another 15 minutes for them. There were 4-6 people total at the bar, and she was just chatting with a couple at the bar. I ordered the side Caesar salad, and received it with tons of what looked like bread crumbs on it. The crumbs really took away from the flavor of the salad and almost drowned it out. I didn’t really read the description for the menu, but I was caught off guard. Upon receiving our food, everything visually looked good. My fiancé got the Lola chicken sandwich and slice of pizza that were both delicious. His mother ordered the shrimp and grits and they were to die for. I got a k-mack chicken sandwich and it looked amazing, but the sauce on the chicken just tasted of salt. I had everyone try the sandwich and they even made a face at it. I asked the server about it, and he explained that everyone says that. He mentioned very few people like it, as well as on the wings. I ate maybe 1/4 of the sandwich between the three of us. I was hoping our server would have offered to get something different, but he didn’t. It’s not expected to offer something else, but it would have been nice to at least be given the option of a different entree. I do plan to return, as I do like the atmosphere and the menu items I tried beyond mine. I do think the start of the experience was a one off thing, and now know what items I would not order again. Once I get here again, I will give it another try and update my...
Read moreWonderful place! This is my second time coming here & both times it was a unique experience. Both times employees were super friendly & outgoing, just like this place is. It's like I'm sitting in my living room (not per se)... the place has a relaxing feel. Great music choice & not overly loud. The first time we enjoyed a night of pool, pizza & beers. This time we tried breakfast & it was split half & half (I have included pictures) Our server was friendly & thoughtful. Throughout the dining we had our glasses refilled. I can't wait to come back & try the oatmeal bowl. This time I had the cordon bleu (spicy chicken) you have the choice spicy or regular chicken & my server recommended the spicy. It was okay, the chicken had a wonderful crunch to it & not much else. A little bit of flavor, it was dry and it was not spicy at all! The biscuit is huge & buttery & delicious though & the ham is thick & honestly that's where most of the flavor came from. My youngest son had the biscuit french toast & it was a creative & delicious menu choice & absolutely DELICIOUS! Oldest son who was celebrating his Birthday today had the BLT. Second time he's had it & he loved it! Portions leave you full & satisfied. I docked a star because... first, the cold air coming in through the window at our table. We were freezing the whole time & our food got cold quickly after arriving. Second; because my husband's breakfast didn't arrive until way after ours & we didn't get to enjoy our food together as a family (husband asked us to eat before the cold air got to it) He ordered a simple breakfast of two eggs, ham, bacon and a biscuit. He asked for his bacon to be cooked extra crispy & (he's VERY particular about his bacon being crispy) I can announce that he was PLEASED, Happy & Satisfied!!with the bacon) He had ordered apple jam with his biscuit but, it was something else entirely, not apple. Honestly, he liked the sweet butter anyways! It was to pricey for what he ordered. Over all it was okay. I am willing to come back (like I said, to try the...
Read moreWe visited Denver Biscuit Company in Colorado Springs for the first time on 9/30. Neither of us had ever been to one of their locations before, and we were excited to give them a try.
We ordered the massive cinnamon roll topped with bacon, the biscuits and sausage gravy, and a the Beeler biscuit sandwich.
The food was amazing! We ordered and received our food less than 10 minutes later. The sausage gravy used spicy sausage (possibly Italian), so it had the slightest kick to it, which was divine! The cinnamon roll was not overly sweet - the frosting just the perfect sweetness to not over power. The Beeler was perfection!
Denver Biscuit Company also has a "coffee bar", which is just a self serve coffee station with decaf and regular coffee, creamer, and choice of sweeteners. It is all you can drink for $3. While I only had 1 cup of coffee, the regular coffee was the best tasting coffee I've ever had! Most coffee I have to drown in a ton of creamer and sugar, but this coffee was the perfect roast so as to not be bitter at all.
Our server was Charles, and he was the most amazing person ever. He was very personable, joking, and attentive throughout our meal.
The one moment that shocked us to no end today, however, was when we were nearly home (northeast side of COS) we discovered a medication bottle missing. It had fallen out of a jacket pocket and we couldn't find it. We called the restaurant, and while it took a while to get through to someone while we drove back to the restaurant, we were so thankful they had found the medication and were holding on to it while we went back to pick it up.
Not only was this dining experience one of, if not the, best we've ever had in the Springs, but we were so surprised they didn't just toss the medication before we called. We will definitely be back...
