I've been here five times and for a fast food restaurant, this place is pretty solid. I get a lot of coupons in the mail, and every time I have gone here I have used a "buy one small sub get one free" coupon; without this coupon I think the food would be a little overpriced. With the coupon, however, I think the food is worth coming back for.
My absolute favorite sandwich is the New York Chopped Cheese, but unfortunately as of the time I am writing this it is a limited time only sandwich. I hope they will make it a permanent menu item in the future, because I would actually come back and buy this without any coupons. I have never had a real chopped cheese sandwich before so I am not sure how close Capriotti's version comes to replicating the real thing, but theirs has almost a taco taste to it which I really enjoyed.
My second favorite sandwich is the Capastrami without coleslaw, which slightly beats out my third favorite the American Wagyu Cheesesteak. I really enjoy both, but I had them side by side and the Capastrami just has more flavor to it.
I also had the American Wagyu Cheesesteak and the regular Cheesesteak sandwiches side by side, and the Wagyu version is so much better than the regular version. The regular version has almost no taste in comparison; it is worth the couple extra bucks to buy the Wagyu one.
The Classic Italian sandwich wasn't bad, but it was a basic sandwich that I could've made myself. The Italian Sausage sandwich was pretty decent as well, but it just didn't do enough to stand out in my opinion. Similar to the Classic Italian, it tasted like a very generic sandwich I could...
Read moreI have heard wonderful things about Capriotti's, and the new location is very close to where I live, so I decided to stop in this afternoon for a late lunch. I was the only customer in the shop.
I'll start with the good. The bread is exceptional, the best of any sandwich shop I've tried. It was fresh, soft, dense, everything I love for a sandwich. If Jersey Mike's had this bread, I would never stray from them.
However, that was the only impressive thing about my visit. The two crew members who made my Italian sandwich were much more interested in their spirited conversation and had to shuffle ingredients twice as they realized what had been missed. I tried to get their attention to add another menu item, but no response. Their assembly table has them facing away from the customer at all times. All I could see was their backs and the long, loose hair one of them had. It was pulled back, but still very close to the prep area. Service was super, super slow.
The sandwich did have plenty of meat, but it was unidentifiable as anything Italian. And I have never had an Italian sandwich with no peppers of any kind, mild, hot, or otherwise. Although the sandwich was drenched in oil, there was no Italian flavor whatsoever.
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I won't be returning, regardless of your...
Read moreThe service here was terrible the workers were rude as soon as we walked in to the place and instead being greeted with a “Hello” they said “we close at 8, we aren’t taking any dine ins” so we said no worries we will take our food to go. Then my friend orders his sandwich, pays, and walks away to fill his cup. I’m standing at the register waiting to order but the male worker (wearing his hoodie) walked away and started to mop the floor. So I asked “can I order?” And he said “oh yeah, I thought y’all were together” … keep in mind my friend ordered one sandwich … so after I order I wait for them to call my name when it’s ready. After a 10 mins my friend said he thought he heard them call my order, so I walk up and asked if they called my name and the female worked said “oh yeah I don’t know how to say it, here you go” Then before I left, a female customer who had been sitting since before we got there, walked up to the counter and asked about her order and the male worker said “we don’t have the ingredients to make that” HE LITERALLY COULD OF TOLD HER THAT INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR 20 MINS. Would...
