Where was this place when I was in college? Man alive, the combos of sandwiches you can get from Fat Shack are delish. I ordered through Postmates so canāt speak to the physical location, but my delivery was great. I ordered the Doobie, Jersey, and Mack along with fried Twinkie, fried Oreos, and fried cheesecake bites. I have a decent size appetite that tends to be well above the average person. And my body size pretty well confirms that statement š But of all I ordered, I was only able to eat the Doobie and half of the Mack, along with the Twinkie, and one each of the Oreo and cheesecake bites. The sandwiches when you unroll them donāt appear to be huge, but then you bite in and really think about what your eating in each sandwich with the chicken fingers, cheesesteak, fries, mozzarellla sticks, Mack and cheese, onion rings, etc. and a small 6ā sandwich like what I ordered can go a long way! Normally I order the biggest sandwich size a place has, but the food Angel on my shoulder today said go smaller and order more variety and man, Iām glad I did. Cuz these things pack a punch! And I was ready for a nap as if it was Thanksgiving and I had just knocked out my 3rd or 4th plate⦠and a nap was most definitely had today š Overall, the food was great! The flavor combos in the sandwiches all worked well and nothing of what I ate so far had anything that overpowered anything else. Everything was good and balanced. The fried desserts are heavenly. And huge! I order the 5 piece orders of the Oreos and cheesecake bites thinking the size of an Oreo with a little batter the fried. No, these things each come out the size of like racquetballs, coated in a delicious cake like batter, then dusted in a powdered sugar. So I have dessert for the next week! I will say for the Twinkie, the sponge cake of the Twinkie and the batter Fat Shack uses for frying end up so close to one another in taste that the Twinkie taste kinda gets lost. Or it did for me at least. That was the one down of it for me, but no regrets in trying it at all cuz I can at least say that I have now, though letās keep that from my doctors, shall we š So when you are looking for some unique combos or just pure indulgence, look no further than Fat Shack. We arrived on a Wednesday night around 6 p.m. Although the restaurant had about 5 tables available, there were a couple that were empty. We were greeted warmly at the counter by a gentleman with a great sense of humor who made us feel quite welcome. We ordered a cheeseburger and one of their signature "Fat" sandwiches.
The cheeseburger included american cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and burger sauce on a toasted brioche bun. I was served with a side of delicious fries. The burger was average, nothing great yet not horrible, but enough to hit the spot.
Feeling adventurous, I ordered the "Fat Slob," which consisted of cheesesteak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, ketchup & mayo on a large roll. Needless to say, there was an explosion of different flavors and textures with every bite. One may say it is too much, and perhaps so, but it was a sandwich unlike any other, and certainly left me without a craving for dessert! Overall, the Fat Slob was unique and very tasty. I would definitely like to return and try other Fat sanwiches, such as the Fat Doobie (chicken fingers, french fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks & honey mustard), or the Fat Cow (mac and cheese, bacon, french fries, mozzarella sticks & buffalo ranch).
Give Fat Shack credit, their Fat sandwiches are unabashedly creative and in your face. If you want something more than your average burger or chicken sandwich, then Fat Shack is certainly a "see it to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love the food but everytime I order they either refuse to answer the phone or I'm left on hold to the point where they forget about me. Tonight I went in and they asked if I called in an order. The girl working the front was rude as hell. I said "no I tried to call in am order but no one answered" she said "we're busy what do you need" i was literally the only person there at 11:15pm while 2 other employees were standing around.
I asked for an 18 piece wings all flats. She replied with "we aren't doing that anymore until the manager figures out how to ring it in" I have always ordered this way and pay the extra $3 for the wings. I'm ready to give up on this place even though the food is so good. However the rude and lazy staff doesn't make it worth it anymore. They literally need a whole new crew or this place is sadly going to fail. I hate to see a place with such potential being run to the ground by the people...
