Where do I even start. Barrackus, this man is a legend! He a manager here but you couldn’t tell because of the way he always help customers and his staff. However this once in a lifetime experience was fuel by his great energy ! He had such great suggestions about the food I didn’t need a menu. My mother wanted too get some really good food. Well diverse woman with a lot of experience with a good meal however she is hard to please food wise at times. From the bento box of different sushi’s to the sashimi dish she not only LOVED the food she enjoyed Barrackus expert opinion and knowledge on EACH INDIVIDUAL DISH that was placed on the table. I dont eat sushi however Barrackus was still able to find dishes that I loved including the hibachi. Also The red chill dumping are amazing ! even the smoked tuna truffle… I believe that’s the name was FIRE ! I DONT EVEN LIKE RAW FISH BUT THAT DISH WITH THE TRUFFLE WAS AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!! Furthermore the atmosphere takes you away from the busy city and put you in a place of relief and relaxation. Beautiful interior and very clean. I can’t speak for everyone but what I can say is that Barrackus and his team gave me my girlfriend and her mother the best experience I could’ve imagined and more. This team is lead by an amazing manager and fueled with positivity. We are for about 50-75 a person however we got ALOT OF FOOD and drank well for the three of us. We all left full and I even still have a box packed of leftovers from my hibachi. Thank you again to The 698 team and a personal thank you again to Barrackus for talking to us and letting us know about your restaurant. WE WILL BE...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience dining at 698 Restaurant. We were there for a special birthday celebration and everything about the evening went above and beyond.
The atmosphere is wonderful. We had a lovely high top table by the window near the front of the restaurant. The lighting and decor add to the overall mood and even though the restaurant was busy, as it should be!, our space felt private enough for our special celebration.
The staff was exceptional, especially the manager, Barracus, who showed us an extraordinary time.
Drinks were amazing and we enjoyed them all, especially the custom stamped birthday drink. We enjoyed the lychee martini and espresso martini.
For appetizers, we loved the shrimp shumai and crab rangoon tarts. The smoked bluefin tuna with truffle was an other-worldly experience! We chose the Angry Lobster roll, Spicy Spider roll, and Flying Dragon roll and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend sharing the different options for an all around taste delight! Ending the meal with creme brulee, mushroom mousse, and opera cake topped off the evening.
I don't think we could have asked for a better celebratory experience than the one we had here. We will definitely return to 698! There's so much more on the menu to explore!
I cannot recommend this dining experience...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday night and it looked relatively slow in there. We were seated right away. Unfortunately, Isaac was our server and had zero energy. I couldn’t even hear him when he first greeted us. Then he disappeared for a while and didn’t come back for a drink order or anything. After ordering, it took over a half hour to bring out appetizers. We ordered a few sushi appetizers and kitchen appetizers. They all came out at separate times. (I can’t fault them for being out of a sushi appetizer we ordered but it took them over a half hour to come around and say they don’t have it, so they probably took a while to even start working on our orders). The table next to us was getting frustrated too because everything was super slow and/or incorrect. Isaac didn’t check in on us or our food at all. They also made excuses to why appetizers took so long without just apologizing. The sushi was decent. After we finally got our check, we had to wait forever for someone to come around and take it. A highlight of the experience though was the manager that did more than our waiter and came around and made sure we got all...
