First and last time unfortunately ! Bad experience. Easton location.
We realize this is a newer location and sometimes restaurant service has a bad day. We felt we were very patient.
Arrived at 1:50
Sat approximately 10-15 minutes later.
Server came promptly even though they were busy. Drinks came on time.
Approximately 25 minutes later our salads came. They were busy so, this was fine for time. We did not have a second to put our dressing on our salad and our meals were delivered.
Lasagne and parmesan garlic egg noodles were our 2 meals. We ate our salads which were fresh and tasty. We discussed coming back for their pizza and wing day special. Very excited to have a new restaurant with good food in the neighborhood.
The lasagne was piping hot. The other was ice cold along with the chicken skewer. The wait offered to have it remade. We took her up on that. The manager came by to apologize and said she would put the order in herself BUT it will be a while since they have a few larger parties. I always thought when having something remade it goes towards the top not the bottom of the list.
While my eating partner ate the lasagne, I waited 45 minutes for the manager to come tell me my dinner hadn't been put in to make! She said dinner was no charge and she would make it herself. 6 minutes later my meal came out. Obviously my eating partner had been finished with her meal for quite some time. I wouldn't have waited so long but, the noodles were very good.
The manager came back with a $25 gift card so we would come back again. Her excuse was they were newer and busy. By this time the restaurant was 1/2 empty. We cooled down and thought the gift card was a great gesture and a business trying to go above and beyond. This won us back to try the restaurant again with a smile on our faces. After all the food was good and everyone can have a bad day. We chatted about our next visit. I was half way finished with my meal. Ten minutes or so went by and we got a $21 bill. What? Why give us a gift card to charge us? This makes no sense. This caused us to be very upset again. I left 1/2 my meal in disgust of management. We thought both meals were not going to be charged since we both waited an extreme amount of time. We arrived at 150 and left at 3:35. All for 2 pasta dishes?
The food was great but management made sure we would...
Read moreOn 3/22 we came to Beer and Barrel at Easton for my brother’s birthday. We waited for 45 minutes also though the back room was completely empty. As we were being seated, we shared with Jessica who I assume to be the general manager, that there were not enough seats to accommodate our party. I asked her why it was not possible to sit in the other room where there were plenty of seats to accommodate us and she was pretty snippy with me. She stated she had four call offs which did not correlate to why we could not be seated down there. I was confused as to what that had to do with us being seated in an area where we could all fit. They brought two extra chairs, however, that made the table tight. I am still confused as to what four call offs had to do with an entire section of seating, like, what are a few extra steps to service the customer? As we were sitting there, another cousin came and there were literally no seats. Another lady, with glasses, grabbed a chair and sat it literally in the middle of the floor. I shared with her that was completely unacceptable and my cousin would have no where to eat, asking if he was expected to eat on his lap. She looked at me and said, “Is this not going to work?” I responded that I needed her to look around and make her best judgement to be able to answer that question. She left the chair and walked away to “see what she could do”. Our server asked us if we needed more seating when you could tell, visibly able to see that we did. I’m pondering if circumstances would have been different if we looked different, but unsure. Regardless they were unwilling to accommodate us and that is terrible service. Four call offs (when we watched seven go to a table and sing happy birthday to another party) is not a customer issue, it’s the issue of the business. Call offs or full staff, it is the responsibility of the business to ensure the customer is taken care of. And the only reason I dated was because my brother wanted to. I have patronized this business, this location, several times and NEVER had this issue. If Jessica is going to be stressed and respond to people the way she did because people called off and there may be high volume in the establishment, then it should be considered to give her additional coaching or extra support. Thank you for your attention to...
Read moreFollowing my grandmother's funeral, I called ahead to make a reservation for our family, a group of 25–30 people.
During the call, I could tell the person I spoke with was hesitant, but after confirming twice that they could accommodate us, including being seated together as a family and splitting checks by group, I was assured it wouldn’t be a problem.
I even called again two hours before our reservation to confirm everything was in place, and again, was told yes.
When we arrived, the hostess (who was super nice and helpful) tried to split us between several tables and booths.
I explained that we had confirmed we’d be sitting together as a family. She brought out the manager, Regan, who immediately came out with a visibly irritated attitude and asked, “What is the problem?”
As I explained the situation, she cut me off mid-sentence, claiming she was the one I spoke with on the phone and that she never told me we could sit together....only "near each other."
She offered no apology or solution, just a dismissive tone. Despite every solution we offered, she declined.
We explained that this was a special occasion, our family’s first time all together in years, and following our grandmother’s funeral, we really wanted to be together.
In total there were maybe 3 other customers in the w tire restaurant, so space was not an issue.
It was only after we considered leaving and going to Steak and shake (which honestly would have been the solid choice to make at this point) did the manager finally allow us to push some tables together, something we had offered to do ourselves earlier.
Unfortunately, after being seated, the poor service continued.
Our waitress arrived without so much as a greeting, just attitude, and immediately made everyone rearrange their seating. She was also upset that we were not all on one check and she voiced this to us.
The food itself was underwhelming, lukewarm, bland, and definitely not worth the trouble.
The entire experience made it clear that we were an inconvenience to the staff from the start.
There was zero customer service, plenty of rudeness, and a complete lack of empathy. We will not...
