I had been here many times. Recently, I ordered from Uber Eats to be delivered for the first time and I ran into an incredibly inconvenient and frustrating situation entirely from the fault of Cumin & Curry.
On the app, I selected "Very Mild". When the food arrived, the container said "Very Hot", as well as the printed receipt. You could smell the heat through the bag. I checked the app and verified that I had selected "Very Mild". I called the store and explained what I ordered, and what I received. They took it as "I got what I ordered and it was too hot", which wasn't the case. I tried explaining over and over that I always love my (MILD) food, and that the order itself was incorrect. The employee left me mid sentence to find a coworker, which was incredibly rude. The next employee immediately starts saying what the previous person was saying. I again explained that my order was wrong to begin with. He says "That's just the way curry is. It's hot. Try it and call us back, you will like it." I insisted that this was a waste of time and demanded a resolution. He says "I can make you another one, but it will be the exact same thing because that's just how our spices are." I said "fine, I'll see you soon." When I arrived and said who I was, the person immediately began explaining why I was wrong for the third time. I got out my phone and held out my Uber Eats receipt showing "Very Mild". They immediately stopped talking, and said they'd make me a new one. I waited an additional twenty minutes while they made me a new Very Mild dish and I'm sure while they threw out the second Very Hot dish they made expecting me to take. Nothing was refunded, no one apologized once, and I walked out still paying full price for the food. I ordered by food at 6:30 and got home with my correct order (after having to drive regardless) at 8:00. My rice and naan at that point was cold, and I still paid full price for the experience. I can't imagine how this would have gone if I didn't have a car, or if I was disabled and unable to drive. No one believed they could possibly be wrong, and no one apologized when all evidence said they were. No one stopped to believe me, and that I never received what I ordered and paid money for. I will not...
Read moreHarrowing experience ever. This place is full of people who have no respect for their customers. They are partial and particularly known for favoring nobody other than whites. The manager was particularly extremely illiterate and hateful in her behavior. she seemed a very sad person and bringing her personal dissatisfaction to this place. The food is not worth the money they charge for. We went to pick up our food and requested the manager for 2 plates, which she kept misunderstanding as 4 plates. and, she asked me in an extremely rude and confronting tone that if there are 4 people eating the food we ordered. And, i think that is none of her business to know what we are gonna do with the food. So, i told this incident to my girlfriend who was next to me. And, she went to ask one of the waitresses for the owner. To our disbelief, the same disgusting woman showed up and claimed that she is the owner. She was about to hit me it felt like. She was in such confronting. My gf could not take this behavior any longer, she revolted politely but, the manager showed us her extreme behavior and asked us not to come there. We were still polite about the whole situation and decided to walk out after she said that she doesn't care about what we have to say. They also didn't refund $18.96 for the food even when we decided not to take the food. I don't know how to react to all this disgusting behavior. So, i am trying to make people aware of this racial behavior. The day before when i went to pick up 2 Naan for myself, they started asking me what i am going to do with that food. and started making fun of me. I am a dignified computer professional and a bonafide citizen of this country. I did not sign myself up for this kind of ridiculous treatment by a lesser mind. I am NOT ever going to that...
Read moreI read good reviews about it and went for dinner with my wife. Things that led to 1 star review - the tea was cold. On pointing that they just microwaved it for a min and served the same tea. In the end the lady (I believe the owner) argued that tea was fresh though it was prepared at 5:00 PM (and we were having dinner at 8:30 PM). At a fine dining place you do not prepare tea and store in flask but prepare on request. The Veg Manchurian - the gravy was decent but it failed to penetrate the veg Manchurian balls. The Dum Aloo - It was Idaho potato stuffed with a lot of stuffing and it has sweetish gravy. The person who prepared it had put in a lot of effort and could give the dish any name he wanted and it would have been good. But when you put it as Dum Aloo in the menu, the expectation of customer is that they will eat spicy Dum Aloo. The Goat Curry - It had Chicken in it and the lady said since all the meats is placed together, it may have fallen in. I am sorry but you have to be careful what you prepare and serve cause that is your business 101. She gave me 10% discount for the tea and goat curry mix up. What she failed to understand that for $50 dinner for 2 is not inexpensive and we go there to have a good food and not for 10% discount. If I can pay $45, I can pay $50 as well.
Anyways, I always give any restaurant 2 chances to impress me with their food. Everyone can have a bad day and it will not be right to judge anyone on their bad day. So Cumins, please be more professional and careful next time. I will not be impressed if your restaurant has been there for 10 or 20 years. I will be impressed by your food and...
