Brioso Coffee — Restaurant in Columbus

Brioso is a coffee roaster and shop, but the best reason to visit is the food.

The coffee is what you would expect for a mid-sized, independent roaster and shop (the coffee drinks like lattes are better than the drip coffee), but the food is AMAZING!

I'm not talking about cookies and scones...those are--adequate...

I'm talking about some of the most AMAZING sandwiches you have EVER had! The soup, while not quite as stunning to the tastebuds, is so rich, flavorful, and filling that you just want to take a full lunch hour to enjoy a bowl with a thick slice of the best Focaccia in the downtown Columbus area.

If you need caffeine, stop in for a latte...it is better than most other coffee shops especially the large chains...

If you want to eat something so good you will "slap yo' mamma", though, stop in and get the Jerk...

Although the baristas were super friendly and the shop was super modern and clean, the coffee just wasn't good. Although it had a very high quality feel to it (leading me to think it was going to be good) and was reasonably priced, every time I took a sip of my iced maple latte, it was clearly sour and left a funky after taste. I also had digestive issues after drinking this coffee, which I have not experienced with any other place after trying numerous other coffee shops in the area. I'm not sure if this was just a fluke or not, as my friend also noted that her espresso was sour as well. I wanted to like this shop so bad considering the atmosphere and the good things I heard about it, but this just wasn't it...

I cannot say enough good things about Brioso Coffee! Their espresso is incredibly smooth and rich, truly a coffee lover's dream. But the real standout for me is their Ohio maple latte, made with real maple syrup that adds the perfect touch of sweetness.

The baristas at Brioso are top-notch - knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure your drink is just right. And for those who prefer alternative milk options, they have you covered with a variety to choose from.
