I recently organized a sizable gathering (18+ people), involving a substantial group of over 550 individuals. Before the event, I took the initiative to contact your establishment to discuss the logistics, but unfortunately, there seems to have been a miscommunication regarding the billing policies.
I had anticipated that those who wished to order drinks could do so individually at the bar, especially considering that our group comprised individuals who were primarily meeting independently. Regrettably, I was not informed about the policy of consolidating all expenses onto one bill, subsequently splitting and adding a 20% gratuity. This lack of clarity resulted in a significant financial discrepancy for most attendees as many attendees ended up paying double the anticipated cost, causing frustration and disappointment.
I offered to remove the server from our area and order individually, which was denied. I was also informed that the server would communicate the policy before each individual ordered but that didn't occur, causing quite a lot of confusion during the closing of the bill. Some individuals wanted to pay others' bills thus adding an additional card count to one of the cards to lower the cost for each person and that was not taken into account either. The server didn't allow for one card to count as 2 card counts for couples either. We were not in a dedicated event space or have any space reserved. If that were the case, I could have somewhat understood some of this.
Moving forward, I kindly request that your establishment ensure transparent communication regarding billing policies, especially for events involving diverse and sizeable groups. This will contribute to a more positive experience for both event organizers and attendees alike. I understand that managing large groups can present challenges, and I believe open communication about billing practices beforehand would have greatly alleviated this situation. This has left a poor taste in my mouth and I unfortunately will not be returning or hosting large...
Read moreWhile the upholstery hanging beneath the chairs may have you questing how this could be called a high end establishment with the furnishing conditions looking as if they were picked up at Habitat For Humanity a few hours prior and sat in the restaurant absent of any thorough cleaning. The drinks and food from Veritas certain confirms this is a high end establishment. After speaking to management regarding the conditions of the furnishing I was informed the owners refused to reupholster the furniture or replace it. I was horrified at the conditions of the bar stools as it looked like guest sitting in the chairs would fall through at any time. My attention quickly changed to the Confit Wings and Potato Croquettes | Truffle that was now sitting in front of me. I had never had a gourmet chicken wing until I bit into these wings. Served with a equally amazing white dipping cream, these wings are by far the best wings I've ever taste. The Potato Croquettes with Truffle made the snack worthy of being a small meal as we enjoyed amazing mock-tails made to mimic the actual flavoring of the liquor it was suppose to be in the drink. To top the night off we ordered a Lobster Roll to go. Just a FYI, although Veritas food is amazing, I would suggest to eat the food at the restaurant immediately after it is served as the Lobster Roll did not reheat as well as I am sure it was when it was first made. Over-all I give the restaurant good marks for food, services and drinks! The only take away is the...
Read moreMy first time check out this place, it was their holiday pop up. I had been to other Miracle pop ups, but this one was the most underwhelming. The space itself is beautiful, with large windows and wonderful architecture. The holiday decorations though were not quite in abundance like others (just some inflatables, one of which blocks most of the space and string lights and garland around the bar). My drink was good, but it was served in a plastic solo cup even though the menus made it seem like it should be in the Dinosaur tiki mug. Other Miracle events all use the expected themed cups. Along with that, their ordering system is not well thought. They give a ticket and call your number, but it’s too loud in the bar to hear anything so our drinks were just sitting in attended on the bar opposite to where we were standing for an undetermined amount of time. All of this left me feeling disappointed in my experience and we left after just one drink. I’d like to go back without the pop up to give them a more fair shake, but they really need to revamp this experience if they want me to recommend it to others. The Overlook Lodge in Cincinnati does Miracle the best...
