Got the Grilled Chicken Bowl to go, and it was amazing. It came with two sauces on the side, one was sort of a light dill tzatziki-style sauce that I interpreted as the dressing for the "salad" component, and one was spicy sauce that I couldn't identify (but may also contain cucumber), that I assumed was intended for the rice/beans/chicken half. I put both sauces on their respective sides, but I mixed them in bites as I went, and everything worked very well together. I was also pleasantly surprised by the heat in the spicy sauce. I had my hot sauce bottle ready to go, but it wasn't needed.
I'm only giving them 4 stars on "food" because some of the greens in the spring mix were past "wilted" and into "rotten" territory... but I know how hard it is to get quality greens, and that's pretty typical....so I can accept that on some level.
To the person that posted about a lack of flavor: I see two half-full portion cups of the sauces I mentioned in the background of your photo. That's your problem right there. It was supposed to be in the bowl.
I will add this place is very far from cheap, but rent in the Short North is also very far from cheap,...
Read moreStopped in one day to grab lunch (turkey avocado croissant sandwich) and I'm officially hooked.
The space/team are very chill and refreshing just like the food; which is AMAZING. The owner is super kind, very sweet, so humble and goes above and beyond to make her customers feel welcomed.
My son is hooked on the peanut butter toast, the smoothie bowls are perfection and if you are in the mood for the freshest lunch of your life-you have to try the salmon bowl. (Like seriously)
The bodega style front and adorable fruit stand makes you forget you are in Downtown Columbus. Some may feel uneasy about the price, but if you appreciate great service, fresh/organic ingredients and FLAVOR-it is 1000% worth the price and the trip. They make everything fresh and with lots care. Rio is officially on my brunch & breakfast list and one of my new favorites.
5 Stars Across the board. Plus five more...
Read moreprices can be a little high, and the smoothies, weren’t that great, And in the summer, it is 1000 flies at the one downtown!😳 but the most depressing part was the high Street in the short north. I’m not sure if this is the owner mama or whomever but she looks to be over 80 and she sits outside in all types of weather be it snow, a little rain, summer, whatever month in all different types of environments, sometimes with a blanket over her head and in charge of a little fruit stand. It’s really sad to see this I feel like that woman should be somewhere enjoying her older years instead of being placed outside to sell fruit is really disgusting to me. I’m not sure if this is a cultural thing but when you’re a certain age, I just feel like it’s time for you to be taken care of and to me she doesn’t look to be taken care of. That’s my personal opinion but again I think...
