I like trying limited releases of flavors here, but the newest one is really weird. It's cookie dough, which I'm surprised they just now got a flavor like this. Anyways, it tasted like sour cream with some cookie dough in it - not great. I tend to like Jeni's but I think it can be pretentious given a cookie dough flavor - a literal favorite among ice cream consumers - is just now being released. Sometimes they want to be unique at the expense of not offering some basic flavors, which is insane to me. Don't even get me started on how the Ted Lasso flavor was delicious, and one of the best flavors I've ever tried at Jeni's - yet they will never release it as an actual flavor because it was limited and branded as the "Ted Lasso" flavor. Genuine question, but can't you just rebrand it...? Anyways, these are personal preferences lol but the cookie dough flavor legit tasted like cottage cheese/sour cream, and I'm sad I paid like $7 for it. I'm not sure how Jeni let this one out but it tasted like the viral cottage cheese ice cream from tiktok. It would be awesome to see more fan favorite flavors come out like: a better cookie dough, cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip (not my thing but others like it), vanilla bean (not just the honey vanilla), etc. This is all meant to be helpful and I love ice cream, so no offense to Jeni's, but these are some minor qualms I have which mostly have no bearing on my day...
Read moreI have heard so many people rave about Jeni's so I decided to try it while I was in Columbus. All I can say is those who think this is great need to try some more ice cream. A lot more.
I was greeted from by the counter well by a person who I know was genuinely trying to create an experience that would justify the high price tag for the ice cream. But it was so rehearsed! I took her up on her offer to taste some flavors and I chose peach. The pitch started there - "Made with sweet cream and the essence of fresh Georgia peaches." I'm from Georgia originally and all I can say is "How about some actual peaches in your ice cream???" Seriously. no peaches in the peach ice cream?
Her speech was so rehearsed that I heard her say the same thing to someone else!
I got the butter brittle and it was good but a single scoop on a cake cone was $5. It's just not that good.
I think this place is taking advantage of people who want all their friends to know they've been to the latest trendy spot. I say spend $2 more, get some Blue Bell and invite your friends over for some ice cream. You can serve better ice cream and have a dozen over and I think they will be more impressed that you...
Read moreI went to this location yesterday with my friend and though I was sad they didn't have my favorite Frose Rose, i got my second favorite which was Salty Caramel. The staff were super nice and polite despite being night shift (I work ice cream and nobody likes working night shift bc that's usually when the ruder people come in. So props to the guys that served me!!)
The establishment was very well kept, my only wish is that the COMPANY buys bigger buildings so it can be a better enviroment for workers AND customers! I felt bad for the employees, because they don't have all that room to move -- which can SUCK if there's a rush and an employee is overstimulated. Speaking of a rush, the waiting area is super tight! We had to squeeze past this group from a club or organization and that in it of itself can be very stressful to the customer! I know the company will not be seeing this, but I just want to get it out there to those who may see this and pursue architecture, specifically urban...
