La Cabaña del Oso — Restaurant in Columbus

Our server must have had no training at all. We were giving paper menu's that had very few items on it. It wasn't until after we had ordered that we heard the manager tell the couple next to us that the full menu was online and that what we had was just a favorites menu. (Not stated on the menu) she instructed them to scan the qr code to see the full menu (the qr code was for a survey, not the menu). When the waitress brought us our drinks she asked if we was ready to order, we said we will get an appetizer. She then insisted on the rest of the order, but made it seem as if we would get our appetizers first... we did and of course it all came together. When my wife went to order her burger she didn't tell her they were all cooked medium well unless stated (it did say this on the menu) nonetheless would have been good to ask incase someone missed the fine print. When my wife asked if it came with sides she said "yes" but didn't offer any, so my wife asked what are my options she said "lettuce, fries"... lol and with that my wife just got fries. She never once came by to check our drinks or to ask if we needed anything and they were not busy and were very well staffed (though it seemed like the manager was the one doing the mass majority of the work, while trying to manage). When we stopped her for the check she came back and we had the card ready and my wife was trying to hand it to her she said "are you going to pay with that" as if she preferred monopoly money instead. Once she came back with our receipt she stood awkwardly waiting for us to sign it. My wife asked if she needed anything and she said oh just for you to sign that. So at that point we couldn't help but to laugh. My wife did tip her (well) imo, but this girl and place needs someone to come through and do some serious training! The food actually wasn't bad, but incredibly over priced, oh except the sour cream for the potato skins that was like liquid. Nasty it was like it had been sitting out for 2 days. Cups were nasty looking (see picture) I'm not trying to bash on the young girl she obviously had no idea what she was doing. What my bigger issue is was that the other servers were nearly as bad! The manager would have to tell someone to go get a table and then by the time they got there the manager had already taken the order. I would not recommend this place, nor would I imagine it being around much longer. Definitely pass on this place, there are much better options out there in nicer areas nearby that are much more reasonably priced.

$16 for burger and fries that wasn't nearly as big or good as 5 guys.

$17 for 12 wings, the wings themselves were good, the garlic parmesean I didn't care for since I tasted no garlic, however the hot sauce I got on side was good. The only problem I had with the wings was atleast one of them had a hair cooked...

We arrived about 5:30 on a Saturday It's loud. Music going and the games were on tvs. Later during dinner, someone did turn the volume off the TV at our booth. When we sat down, we were directed to the QR code for a menu, which is typical these days. However, we asked about a craft beer listing and were told it's all there. It's not. After showing her they weren't listed, we ended up walking to the bar, taking a pic of the taps then we chose from there. Our server was patient while we took our time deciding our food choices, but when the kids ordered Mac and cheese, she asked for a backup choice because they were out of that the night before. Anyone with kids knows you're not prepared for that. Luckily, they had the Mac and cheese. I had the pork empanadas. Hot and fresh. The only complaint I had was that the dough was much thinner than I expected, but I couldn't hold that against them. My husband had the mucho nachos with chicken. I'm glad he's not picky because I would have been so unhappy with them. The cheese and shredded chicken were both cold. Since it didn't bother him, we never asked if it was intended to be that way. When she came to check on us, she left the bill. We probably would have ordered another beer, but since we didn't want anything else right then, she left the bill. Later, my children were still eating, she asked if we needed a box so I said not right now. Since she already cashed us out, she brought a box anyway "just in case". Now, I do want to say that I understand wanting to stay on top of things with the staff shortage when it's busy, but it was clearly not busy. So ultimately, it just made us feel rushed out.

I do want to add that the prices of their kids meals are very fair, if not a little better than other similar style...

Pulling up to the restaurant the parking lot was run down and there was a tire sitting in one of the parking spaces. Me and my friends wanted to try something different but arriving and seeing the place we should have went to Peggy’s next door, but we gave it a shot and thought maybe we found a hidden gem…… dead wrong. We were quickly greeted by a women which had to set up a table because they don’t use one of the sides. Upon sitting down the server told us it was just her and the lady working in the kitchen. When she handed us the menus they were just wrinkled pieces of printer paper that were clearly very used. When she took our drink orders she went into the back to make them and my friend said he watched her pour the drinks out of a two liter which you can tell by the taste. After that we talked about leaving which we should have but we wanted to try and give it a shot….. again dumb decision. We all were nervous about getting anything crazy so we all got apps. Once everything came out my friends mozzarella sticks were cold and clearly microwaved. Mine and my partners beef on our nachos were the texture of bean dip and the sour cream was running away. My other friends fries I think were called the grizz were cold and watery which shows they were microwaved and never touched a fryer. The nuggets tasted like fried kibble and overall was an awful experience. NOT TO MENTION we had 6 of us and a baby and were charged a “large party fee” what a joke. Never...
