NEEHEE'S is such a great place to eat! The first thing I noticed when stepping in the front doors was how immaculatly clean and airy the restaurant is. The front of the restaurant is all glass and the sun shone through without a blinding glare. As you walk up to the counter to order, there are both pictures of the different dishes with the names of them. There are also computerized full menus with pictures and names. At first I didn't know how to use the computerized menu, but in a very short time a very pleasant gentleman on staff came up and showed me how to use it. It was not hard at all after he showed me and the screen is senior citizen friendly (I didn't need to get my glasses)! The gentleman also answered my questions about different dishes. The staff members at the counter were so polite and helpful. I knew already that I love Indian food from Southern India but NEEHEE'S has dishes from all over the country! The staff members were even nice enough to teach us how to pronounce what we were ordering. All we had to do was ask. It did not take long at all to get our food. I like the way the dining room is set up, it's good sized, so you can either set near others or find a quieter more intimate location. The food was excellent! We all ordered something different, but they have extra plates easily available, so we could all taste or share some of what each of us had ordered. You can see the cooks preparing all these different dishes with incredible skill and to perfection! I thought the price was very reasonable and you do not leave NEEHEE'S hungry! They also have an incredible selection of Indian Ice Cream! It's so delicious it is hard to chose which one you want. (They let you sample). Honestly I loved them all! Even though we drive over 100 miles to get to NEEHEE'S we will return in just a week or two. If you have never tried the foods of India, I suggest you do. Not all foods from that country are hot/spicy. The heat of a dish varies many times with the dips, chutneys, etc you choose. Again, all you need to do is ask a staff member and they will help you select a mild/flavorful dip, medium, or what I like: hot/spicy! They have it all! I highly recommend NEEHEE'S and have rarely come across such welcoming, well mannered, helpful, and efficient staff! Margaret Gale (retired head of restaurant department in a well...
Read moreIt was second time visit yesterday, my experience was really bad both times , 1st visit i had Manchurian asked them to make it not spicy and little sweet side but it was bland and soggy, after paying 14 Dollars we didn't had options to leave food my friends ate, and other dish we ordered was good and ok and i ordered raj kachori and it was really good and i asked them for sweeter side and i guess owner was kind and made sure to make it less spicy and also offer sweet chutney and it was good. i really appreciate the way he was, that the reason we went again.
But yesterday i was there only for that raj kachori came all the way from downtown like 25miles but very disappointed firstly the rude attitude GIRL in the cash counter she was like buy or get lost kind , i asked her can you make dish less spicy she was like take sweet chutney and it will cost and added 1dollar or 0.79c , come on after paying 9.49 dollars for chats and it was not takeaway , they could make food how we need thats where we pay money but i didn't feel comfortable with girl in cashier counter, she was rude and not welcoming kind who wants to go there when they have this kind of vibe, i totally understand they will be tried and had worked for long hours that doesn’t mean you need to treat customers so pathetic way, they are representing restaurants and need to be kind and happy so only people will go back.
please make sure kind and happy people in cash counters who can help and be nice to customers, if food was not good people will be fine to go back and try something else but people who work there itself not good and rude who wants to return thats what happened yesterday.
i ordered hot jalebi, it was another pathetic dish i didn't had there took parcel and they said 8 pcs but they were completely dry and thin it was 6 pc and 3 broken small pcs were there , i felt like cheated after paying 5 dollars.
i will never go back had bad...
Read moreThis place is heavenly if you are in love with Indian street foods like chat, pani puri etc. This place is for vegetarian foods, so know that before you go. So, don’t expect any chicken kathi roll, or other non veg street food delights. We visited in weekend evening, so it was fully packed. We had to wait at least 15 minutes in line to reach the counter. It’s a self service, deli like place. You have to place the order, get a buzzer, and have a seat. When the buzzer sounds, get your food from the counter. We ordered papri chat, dahi puri, plane dosa, rajkachori, chhele batore, tea, and a falooda drink with rose ice cream. We were three, still got a problem in finishing up. The dosa was sooo big. Still o feel, the prices could be a bit lower! The chat was pretty decent. I wouldn’t say the best in my life, however, nice. These chats are also very personal and regional taste- wise, that I admit. So I don’t want to judge them recipe-wise. The best part is, that the ingredients are good, fresh and aromatic. I have been to many Indian chat centers and found yogurts stale 🙄😠. This place is absolutely not like that. The food is decent, however the falooda drink is THE BEST! You must try it, if you are here. I will go back again and again, just to get this. That day the Chinese section was not available as they were running out of sauce. So I have to go back again for the gobi...
