P.F. Chang's — Restaurant in Concord Township

This review is by no means a reflection on food quality or great waiters! 1 star to front desk-hostess and MANAGER. Knowing it is a busy time on a Saturday - booked in advance. Arrived on time. 4 girls working front desk - all look clueless. I am told “it will be a bit of a wait”. I asked to quantify - told 10 min. Fine! 15 go by. I see people walking in and getting seated! I go back up - ask for explanation. Got none. Host looks annoyed and pissed off. More customers waiting just like me - she is nearly mouthing off everyone. More waiting… granted i could have been offered to sit at the bar - which would have made place more income, but no… 25 min later - i go back… she looks like she totally forgot about me. I refuse to wait any longer and demand to be seated as she just literally sat a couple down who just walked in. She does… another 10 min before a very nice waitress comes up to me. I place an order and politely ask to speak to the manager.. i explained it had nothing to do with her. My meal comes out eventually. Waitress asks if anyone came up to me per my request yet… i said “no”… she says she will ask manager again… to make a long story short - noone ever approached and after wasting more than 45 min just to get seated and get water i wasnt going to waste another second of my life. Food was good. Atmosphere is good, and likelihood - given their popularity and location - they will do fine no matter what, but… clearly management is not equipped to deal with busy saturday even if they were short staffed! And their hosts are not trained either! Yes - customer service is tough. But in this case - customers were the ones being nice and hosts werent! Will i give pf chang another shot? Sure! First off, I love this place! Me & my family dine here often and they never cease to amaze me! From the first time I came into this place I felt like family! One manager that Id like to point out is Victor!! When I tell you, he’s amazing, he’s amazing!! He’s definitely a very family oriented person and the way he welcomed us and made us feel like family was out of sight! We talked, we laughed and we had a blast! My daughter’s learning Spanish and he was so helpful with teaching her some Spanish quotes being as though he’s an Hispanic gentleman, even talking to my son about his passion soccer. Victor is the definition of a great leader and his professional and good manners is definitely a great reflection of the staff and servers here at P.F. Chang’s. My server T was the best! She took good care of us, making sure to pay attention to my picky wants and needs without missing a beat! She was quick to greet us, fast with getting our food to the table, and even making sure to refill drinks with they was low, without asking! Excellent service and very professional server, so happy I had her! She showed so much patients, with me and my kids who all wanted to order all at once. The food was amazing as usually and we left nothing behind! The dynamite shrimp and chicken lettuces wrap is the best, hands down! Oh and I can’t forget about the bartender Sarah, who made my margarita and Asian Pear Mojito, and she had me on like popcorn, definitely can tell she knows her stuff, the drink tasted amazing and I can’t wait to try another one of Changs cocktails! Walked in and thought we had to seat ourselves because it took 5 mins to be greeted by a server. After another 10-15 mins we were seated into a greasy booth.

Ordered changs spicy chicken, hot & sour soup, and garlic noodles for $31. Soup came out instantly but we wanted to have it with the entree so it wasn’t touched much. 35 minutes passed before the rest of the order came out. Entree looked like someone had already had half of it and garlic noodles were room temperature at best. The white rice was so dry it was impossible to pick up with chopsticks as none of the grains stuck to each other.

The hot & sour soup tasted like bamboo shoot and nothing else. Chicken was a let down and the garlic noodles was the “best”tasting thing we ordered but definitely not worth the $12 they charge for it.

Table next to us was served food without utensils and napkins. Throughout the night we kept hearing “sorry we’re out of …. and ….” “sorry …. is not available today”

I recommend asking for the bill 10 mins before you want to leave as thats how long the checkout process took
