Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Conroe

I would like to say how thankful and appreciative I was when my son asked for a pizza, we were close by and I decided to go by schlotzsky’s since he likes their pizzas, and not even thinking we drive up there and when I get to the door I realize it’s 8pm and they close at 8 I wasn’t going to open the door but the sweet lady at the register her name was ( Elena ) she was waving me down to come in! I was like are you sure i’m so sorry! She was like it’s okay! I told them what my son wanted right away so they didn’t have to stay any longer, and the cook ( Carlos ) didn’t get upset or anything he was smiling and made my sons food fresh and hot! They were extremely nice to us and Carlos even handed me some soup he didn’t want to throw out, it was very thoughtful and kind. I’m glad Schlotzsky’s has amazing employees like Elena and Carlos! AMAZING CUSTOMER...

Went in today during lunch rush. Was greeted immediately and had my order taken. It was a to go order, and I had it within 5 minutes. It is not made in front of you like subway, so get your customization in when you order at the register. I got the Deluxe Original with Jalapeños. Was a great sandwich. Large portions. Their house made Sourdough bread was... different. Not bad, but never had a bread like it. Reminded me of a fluffy cornbread texture. Anyway. The house branded chips were good, like lays chips. A bit pricey but it was fresh and tasty. Next time I go back I will get a smaller sandwich and probably a different bread....

So , I've eaten at Schlotskys since the mid-80's, and as happens, they've been a bit up & down these last 20 years, though I know, competition has grown these past many years as well. This specific place has always had a little hiccup here and there - tonight I ordered a French Dip & a Bacon Beef, and at home I had 2 originals. I live close enough to not worry about a return, but its 1 of the few places like that, for me. The 2 young ladies working tonight were personable & fairly attentive, so no real complaints. I'm gonna try to get in more, I just have to remember...
