Our party of nine made a reservation for 11:30 AM, arriving promptly at 11:00 AM. Upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation could not be honored as scheduled. However, the host assured us that we would be accommodated within 45-50 minutes. We appreciated the willingness to seat us and agreed to wait. To our surprise, we were seated earlier than expected at 11:35 AM, which initially restored our confidence in the establishment’s commitment to customer service.
After being seated, there was a noticeable delay before our waitress approached the table—approximately 10-15 minutes. She apologized for the wait, and we promptly placed our drink orders. Unfortunately, the beverages took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. During this time, we observed a large party of 17 being seated nearby, along with other smaller groups.
When our waitress returned, we placed our food orders, which included a diverse selection from the menu. As time passed, we noticed that tables seated after us, including the party of 17, began receiving their meals. Our table, however, remained without food. After an hour of waiting, we attempted to locate our waitress, who had not returned since taking our orders. Upon inquiry, she mentioned that our food would be ready in another 10 minutes. Despite this assurance, more time elapsed, and surrounding tables continued to be served while we waited.
By 1:00 PM, having waited an hour and a half since our reservation time, we had yet to receive our meals. We requested to speak with a manager but were informed that one was not available. When we asked for contact information for the management, the staff member, who clarified she was not a manager, responded rudely. Given the extended wait and lack of communication, we decided to settle our drink tab and leave the restaurant.
Our experience at Commelfo was profoundly disappointing, especially considering the restaurant’s esteemed reputation and our initial excitement to dine there. While the establishment boasts a beautiful setting and a menu that promises culinary excellence, the service we received fell short of expectations. Timely communication and attentive service are fundamental to a positive dining experience, and unfortunately, these were lacking during our visit.
We hope that this feedback serves as constructive criticism, prompting Commelfo to address these service issues to ensure future guests receive the high-quality experience the restaurant is known for.
The owner stated to us over a call that situations such as these occur whenever he’s out of town so we hope that this feedback only serves as an opportunity for growth. Despite an unpleasant experience, we STILL paid for our...
Read moreBuonasera! Ok, Commelfo Restaurant. First, I just want to say, that the server that night seemed too busy to be efficient at his job. Maybe there was another server that had called out or they were simply understaffed. I don't know but I don't put my entire experience on him. And with that being said..... We went here for my fiancée's birthday. This was the first time either of us been here. I made reservations online for 730 on said evening. We ended up being 10 minutes late. I have no excuses. We entered the restaurant, no one at the hostess stand. No biggie, that's not uncommon in most places. Within a minute we were greeted by our server. I said we had reservations, he looked around and gave us a seat next to a party of maybe 10 people. The place was at half capacity. After being sat, we waited about 15 minutes for any service. When he arrived, we ordered beef capacious and peach burrata. Along with a glass of wine and a margarita with a shot of Gran Marinier. After another 10-15 minutes, the bartender dropped off the margarita and the shot. A minute or so later came the wine. 5 minutes later the server returned to say that there was no burrata. I had to go over the menu again so I told him that is need a minute. Another 15 or so minutes pass by and the appetizer arrives. The server follows 5-10 minutes later. We order a beet salad, she orders a seafood pasta and I order a beef short rib ravioli. Well, they don't have the ravioli. So I get the lobster ravioli. The food was very good, including the appetizer. By the end of the dinner, she gets a brownie for her birthday. It's decent, nothing special. After all is said and done, the experience took 2 hours and about 200 bucks. Now as far the atmosphere, the place looked nice. However, it was loud. Like sports bar loud. We could barely hear each other without raising our voices. I thought it was fine dining but you can dress any way you choose. My fiancée said she never seen so many toes other than at the beach. Overall I give this place 2 stars. It's below average. We could have had the same experience at Wing Stop. This was in no way a fine dining experience. I mean, they offer some plates to be covered in 24k gold for 100 dollars more. The food was great, the atmosphere was like going to the red bar, and the service was that of a listing barge. I was zero percent impressed and I was so excited to dine there. I'm sure this was a fluke but it happened to me....

We visited again tonight, and it was great yet again. I tried the baked Brie tonight and wasn’t disappointed. Gin was our server, and he did a good job.
🎈🎈🎈 My only complaint about this restaurant is the drink glasses. They’re TINY (maybe 10 ounces?), and I have to specifically ask for refills. I would love it if they offered a carafe for the table or a bigger glass for us guzzlers.
From my last visit: 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Holy cow! This little gem has taken top spot for best meal I’ve had so far in Destin. I had the porcini ravioli and the salted caramel cheesecake, and they were PERFECT. I was over half way through the ravioli before I thought to take a pic. It was that good. I usually order the filet for my higher end meals, but I’m SO glad I stepped out of my usual and got the ravioli! Similarly, I would usually get the tiramisu when given the option but tried a little something out of my ordinary and was thrilled with the result. It’s the best caramel cheesecake I’ve ever had, and I have had a LOT. The desserts came with a crème anglais and blueberries as garnish. Holy cow. That was heaven in and of itself. I had a latte with dessert, and 😳. Nicely done foam and super yummy espresso. Husband got the wagyu burger and said it was “pretty good”. When I tested his fries for poison, I found them to be up to par with the rest of my food. Crispy exterior and tender interior with great flavor. 😆 Great atmosphere with soft Lighting and a good noise level with music that wasn’t too loud. That being said, there were only four tables while we were there. Pleasant, knowledgeable service that was attentive. Thanks, Isabella! Outstanding meal and experience. I will be back. My two down sides: 1. the tea glasses were SMALL. Like really small. And unfortunately I go through a LOT of tea. For $4 for drinks, I’d like a bigger glass. If they had been busy, I’m sure my glass would have stayed empty an unacceptable amount of time. 2. Bread didn’t come out with my ravioli. Yes, this is probably uncouth for me to even say. I’m sure that in the culinary world the ravioli should stand on its own. But nope. I wanted bread. They did...
