Title: A Whataburger Delight in Destin, Florida
My wife and I, hailing from Wisconsin and enthusiasts of freshly made burgers, recently had the pleasure of trying out Whataburger in Destin, Florida, during our travels in our RV, the Badger. Having heard rave reviews about Whataburger, we were excited to see if it lived up to the hype, and we are delighted to report that it absolutely did.
After a refreshing five-mile hike through Florida State Park, we decided to refuel at Whataburger, a place that immediately reminded us of the hometown charm of Culvers back in Wisconsin. The ordering process was reminiscent of our favorite local spot: you place your order, grab your own drink, and take a seat with a number placard. Soon enough, our freshly made meals were brought to our table, adding a personalized touch to the dining experience.
I opted for the Bacon Chili Cheese Burger, and my wife went for the Bacon Avocado Burger. My burger was a delight ā the chili was rich in flavor, and the cheese slices were the real deal, not the typical imitation cheese. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Avocado Burger, which came on two thick slices of toast instead of a bun, giving it a unique twist reminiscent of avocado toast, coupled with a juicy burger.
The fries, resembling those from McDonald's but with a subtle saltiness, were a pleasant surprise. The lighter seasoning was much more to our liking, enhancing the overall dining experience. While the price of $24 for both burger meals might be slightly higher than expected, the quality of the food undoubtedly justified the cost.
In conclusion, Whataburger in Destin, Florida, left us thoroughly impressed with its commitment to freshness and flavor. If you're in the mood for a genuinely freshly made burger that lives up to the hype, Whataburger is a highly recommended stop on your culinary journey. Just be sure to have a little extra cash on hand for this delicious...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'll let you be the judge and you can tell me if my 1 star review was justified or not. We arrived and placed an order at the drive thru for 7 burger meals with milkshakes. We received 5 of the 7 milkshakes and then sat in front of a closed drive thru window for approximately 35 minutes, only for someone to open the window and hand us out someone else's order. When we told them it wasn't our order, they looked at us like we were crazy and told us to pull forward. We handed the order back, and after it came in our car and we thumbed through it, and figured out it wasn't ours, they handed it right back out the window to the car behind us!!! I couldn't believe they gave it to someone else after a strangers hands had been all through it. We eventually got our other 2 milkshakes and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes while we watched car after car get their food and proceeded. After sending someone in to check on the food, they acted like we were inconveniencing them for asking why it took 55 minutes to heat 7 cheeseburgers up. When it was all said and done, and an hour later, they still managed to screw the order up, and someone had to go back in to get what was missing, only to be questioned and accused of requesting food we didn't pay for. If I wanted to get a free cheeseburger, I would probably pick somewhere a little better. The whole meal Should have been comped for the absolute ridiculous and uncalled for wait, but I would.never even ask because that's not who I am. Customer service is DOA in the fastfood industry. If there was a way to give zero stars, that's what I would be giving. The food itself was subpar, slightly better than McDonald's, but the experience was enough for me to commit to never...
Ā Ā Ā Read more35-MINUTE WAIT FOR 3 BURGERS: I made an order online (app) on Saturday at 6:53pm. According to the app, it should have been ready at no later than 7:00pm. I showed up at the store by 6:55pm and told them I was there for my order. One of the employees acknowledged this and informed someone in the kitchen. There was a gentleman finishing his in-store order when I went in; there was a lady right behind him. At the time, we were the only customers in the store. An employee brought out my drinks quickly - I'd say by 7:00pm. Then, I had to stand there and wait a full 35 minutes for my order, no exaggeration. I asked four employees for my order at different times and each time I was told it was being prepared. The last employee was actually upset that I was "again" asking for my order and I saw her literally throwing my food in the bag out of anger as if I was wrong for not expecting to wait at least 30 minutes for three burgers and accompanying fries. Even the lady that was there behind me originally got her order way before I did. To top it all off, when we got to open our bag, it was clear that our order had been filled right away and then just forgotten. Everything was cold - room temperature - and soggy. As a person from Texas, where Whataburger has its roots, and having been to several in the past, this is - by far - the worst experience I have had in one. No wonder Chick-fil-A beats them in revenue and customer service every year. Whataburger management, please retrain your...
