As a Google Local Guide, I'm always on the lookout for exceptional dining experiences to share, and my recent Sunday lunch at Fatboys Restaurant was a delightful discovery that I'm eager to recount. 🍔This place is a haven for food lovers, offering a diverse menu that caters to various palates, not just those craving the classic hamburger and fries. Speaking of which, the hamburgers here are a culinary journey in themselves, boasting more than ten flavor options that are sure to make your mouth water.
🧅The Onion Straws were a crispy, flavorful start to the meal, but it was the Pretzel that truly stole my heart. Supremely yummy, it was a challenge not to devour it all at once! 🐥Moving on to the wings, I opted for the Mango Habanero flavor. The balance of sweetness and heat was just right, making it a memorable part of the meal. Fatboys offers an impressive array of wing flavors, including Cajun, Sriracha, and Hot Honey, among others. There's definitely a flavor for every preference, and I'm already planning to try a new one on my next visit.
For the main course, 🥪I chose the Grouper Sandwich. As a fish lover, I was thoroughly impressed. I went with the blackened grouper, which was served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and Fatboys' special sauce on a brioche bun. The option to have the grouper grilled or fried is a thoughtful touch, catering to different tastes. I paired my sandwich with sweet potato fries, which were the perfect side, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Another dish that deserves a shoutout is the Fatboy Club Sandwich. Made with chicken, lettuce, bacon, honey dijon sauce, FB sauce, and Swiss cheese on Texas toast, it's a must-try for anyone visiting.🥪
The variety and quality of the food, combined with the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, make it a standout restaurant. Whether you're a burger aficionado or a wing enthusiast, there's something here for you. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their...
Read moreAt six pm I called in the order as I knew the town was filled. At 8 pm, time scheduled to pick up order, I stood in line at door, holding door open. The girl at register and front reception made no eye contact and I stated I was picking order up. No reply. As people were being seated, a woman behind me cut around me and stated she was there to pick up order. Two younger gentleman came to assist her. I stated, " what about me" ? I quickly got the attention of a bus boy who informed they were very busy. He did have the correct manners to approach me and assure me he would get assistance. It gets better. Then a woman with short blond hair appeared and her back was turned to me. I inquired if she was the manager, in which she confirmed, " yes". Not, yes, may I help you. I then spoke again stating my order. She said go to the bar to pick up. I kindly said, " others are picking up orders which are being brought to them". She shook her head, raised and shook her shoulders and took off. I stood there even longer and decided, well it's time to go elsewhere. The next day I spoke with the Destin manager who informed me he also owns the Holi franchise next door. Never will I eat at either establishment, and on top of this blatant and rude hospitality, there was a table of patrons who watched all transpire. I suggest our tourists to purchase real groceries and eat nutritious foods away from restaurants where the entire experience is highly rushed.I am learning and told, not to complain now nor to expect anything more, as this is the way things are going to function. Now I will return to...
Read moreMy family ate here for the first time and we were less than impressed with the service. In the workers' defense, it may be more of a management issue, because I could swear every server was working the entire restaurant. I watched as different servers hit the tables surrounding us. (And by the way, we sat in literally the first table inside the door, not tucked away in a corner or something.) Since there were seemingly no set sections, we went 20 minutes without any service after being sat. The restaurant was full but it's not large to begin with. There seemed to be ample amount of servers and food runners. Finally, the hostess with strawberry braids came and asked if we had a server yet. She went to chase someone down, but still no one ever came. Finally, she returned and simply took our order and worked as our server herself. She was very nice; without her service I would have rated even lower. I had the hula burger and thought it was good. My child got the kids "chicken bites" and fries, which was fine. Unfortunately my husband got boneless wings and they were simply the kids chicken bites with a tiny smattering of dry rub reasoning (no note in the menu that they would be dry, either.) The nashville hot was covered more fully, but the jerk looked nearly plain. The ranch was also very thin, though it tasted all right. Our beers were admittedly good flavored, cold, and...
