Double Down Saloon — Restaurant in Paradise

This is the definition of hole in the wall, but I LOVE it here! It is a little difficult to find and we had to reassure our Lyft driver that yes, this is where we WANT to be. There are two entrances and small parking lots at both entrances.

It is extremely dark when you walk in so you have to allow your eyes adjust if you've been in the Vegas sun. The bartenders have always been so awesome here and welcoming. This more recent time, my friend ordered a bloody mary with their house infused bacon vodka and my other friend ordered a vodka tonic. I couldn't make my mind up so I asked if she could make something yummy with Deep Eddy Vodka. She used the grapefruit Deep Eddy and created this magnificent cocktail. Upon giving me my drink, she told me that she would make me something else if I didn't like it.

After tasting it, I think she questioned when I told her I loved it. I wish she had more confidence in her skills as whatever she made was super delicious but she questioned herself.

If you make it to Vegas, make sure you come here. And remember to put your sunglasses on BEFORE going outside...

What a place to check out! I grew up loving punk rock and grunge music and the double down is the ultimate punk rock bar. I tell people who visit Vegas, you have to go for the experience if you've never been.

It is a smoky bar with old videos playing on the tv's which I used to love watching since I don't gamble, sometimes there is live music playing depending on the time of day you go. They are known for being on Anthony Bourdain shows and he recommended it as one of the top 5 bars in the world. The drinks ass juice which is a shot that tastes like fruit punch but can pack a punch too can come with a souvenir ceramic toliet shot glass as well as their bacon martini which I personally never liked. There is no food except a vending machine so plan to eat before or afterwards.

I would frequent the double down over the years and now it's just a nostalgic place for me to go and grab a beer. They have a really great happy hour too. I feel like the Double Down Saloon should be considered as a landmark in the ways...

A little tinier and out of the way then I had expected; but it was the kind of dive bar I was looking for. It is up by the airport-which is what I wanted- to experience something away from the strip- a piece of the real Las Vegas. I showed up alone, because my boyfriend fell asleep at 8pm, and left me with nothing to do. Perfect bar for someone just going out alone, because after sitting down for a few minutes, did not have a problem getting into some interesting conversation with some locals, and some people from out of town. The ass juice was decent; and the bartender seemed cool. I asked him about a taxi because I had walked 35 minutes from the strip and didn't want to walk back, and he said the doorman could call one. The taxi was literally there in less than 5 minutes. I would definitely take someone back there with me; also had a recommendation to check out the Tiki Room, which I am disappointed I didn't get to experience because my trip...
