I will admit, I’m partial to restaurants that are part of the Great American restaurant group. They are often similar in their menu offerings, with standard staples like those delicious Ozzie Rolls with honey butter, but I also know I will consistently have a great meal and there’s something for every type of diet (vegetarian, pescatarian, keto, etc.)
We were a group of 3 to celebrate our March birthdays (and we indicated this on our reservation). We also wanted to try this new addition to the Great American chain (but lacked the funds to try Randy’s steakhouse next door; we hear it’s good but a higher price point). It was a Monday night at 6pm, and we were seated immediately as the restaurant was not crowded at all. It was a bit of a trial to actually get here, as the traffic was insanity in the Tyson’s shopping/business district here and this restaurant is a little tucked away from the main artery so it’s not that easy to spot. Parking was plentiful and free, though.
Our server promptly greeted us and asked if we wanted a bread basket and if we knew what we wanted to drink yet. My one friend had the Mango Martini, and I had the Perfect Margarita. (Third one just had an unsweetened iced tea.) They were well mixed, well balanced, and went down smoothly so we had seconds! :)
Always love their bread baskets, from the famed Ozzie Rolls to the other bread varieties made by their Best Buns affiliate. Worth every carb.
We started with lobster bisque soups all around for our first course. It’s a staple in most of their restaurants, and it’s always very good. I wish it had more lobster meat if I had to criticize one thing about it, but the taste is consistently good no matter where you order it.
For dinner, I had the hickory grilled salmon filet that comes with mashed potatoes and a creole mustard sauce. It’s my favorite, and I order it frequently from their restaurant chain. I go for the medium well temp, and it’s always cooked to perfection. My friend had the roasted chicken salad, and my other friend had the steak salad. All the “holds” and “on the sides” were accurate for their salads, and they were both pleased with their meals. Water and other beverages were refilled swiftly.
We ordered three coffees and the bread buffing dessert to share. They were cognizant of the birthday notation on our reservation without us having to say a word (I always appreciate that attention to detail), as they brought out these cute birthday cards signed by the staff that together formed a big heart, and our dessert was presented on a plate with a HBD drizzled in chocolate and a lit candle. A nice touch.
When the check came, we were pleasantly surprised to find not only the shared dessert but all three coffees were all comp’d. Very much appreciated.
We will definitely come back here to Patsy’s as part of our frequent Great American patronage! Thank you for making our birthday dinner...
Read moreA Flawless Fusion of Flavor and Atmosphere at Patsy’s It had been a long week, so when a friend suggested dinner at Patsy’s in Tysons, I didn’t hesitate. Known for its lively atmosphere and stellar raw bar, Patsy’s delivered on every front—and then some. With a little planning help from Pull Up DC (because why not pair great food with top-tier cannabis delivery for the post-dinner unwind?), the night turned into one for the books.
From the moment we stepped in, the energy was palpable. The spacious dining room, with its vaulted ceilings and natural light, had a vibrant yet relaxed vibe. The warm, friendly hostess greeted us immediately and seated us near the raw bar—a perfect spot to soak in the buzz. We kicked things off with the seafood tower, aka “the triple decker.” Let me tell you, this was not your average seafood platter. It was a work of art, piled high with fresh oysters, succulent lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, and perfectly cooked mussels. Each bite tasted like the ocean had sent its best to our table.
For my main course, I went with the Charleston salad. It’s not just a salad—it’s a masterpiece. With tender fried chicken, pecans, avocado, and a tangy champagne vinaigrette, it’s the kind of dish that feels indulgent without weighing you down. My friend opted for the ribeye, and after one bite, I regretted not ordering one myself. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a smoky char that left you wanting more. We also couldn’t resist the Ozzy Rolls. These buttery, golden rolls are worth the trip alone. Pair them with a dollop of that honey butter, and you’ll be thinking about them long after the meal ends.
The cocktail menu was thoughtfully crafted, and the bartenders know their stuff. My Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced—smooth, with just the right amount of bite. The server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, ensuring we felt cared for without being intrusive.
After dinner, we headed home and enjoyed some premium Pull Up DC flower to cap the night. Pairing the high-energy buzz from Patsy’s with the mellow vibes of Pull Up DC’s curated strains made for the ultimate night. Let’s just say their "Tokyo Drift" strain was the cherry on top of an already perfect evening. Patsy’s is the kind of place that checks every box—fresh, flavorful food; a lively yet comfortable atmosphere; and service that makes you feel like a VIP. Whether you’re out with friends, family, or on a date, it’s a go-to spot that never disappoints. Thanks to Patsy’s and Pull Up DC, this was more than just a dinner—it was an experience. Can’t wait to come back and...
Read moreA new modern chic American restaurant with a more light and feel good vibes in it.
A tone down version of TGI Friday’s and Chilis in terms of the interiors and it’s not as loud as TGIF.
The walls are murals and it blends well with the lamps and the chandeliers that hangs from the ceiling.
Parking is ample. Servers are courteous.
A fair warning though, since this restaurant is located in Tysons corner in VA, it’s a bit pricey compared to the other restaurants that offer the same menu. Their food selection is almost similar to typical American restaurants, they don’t have anything that should i say will stand out from the rest.
Food: For starters, they offer also small breads with their own version of their butter. It’s not too much to fill you out but if you’re hungry and didn’t opt for an appetizer then you’re good with the bread. I personally liked the breads.
I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crake Cake and the price varies on the market price of the day, and since I haven’t had crab cakes in a while I opted to order this. For the price of it, I can order already a good steak in Outback. When it came out, I was disappointed with the size of the crab cake. I should know because I cook also. The remoulade sauce, there’s something missing in it that should matched the crab cakes but couldn’t figure it out. The crab cakes tastes good and it doesn’t fall off when you start cutting it and it’s cooked on the inside well and it’s not too crumbly like the other crab cakes I’ve had before. I am not a super fan of the crab cakes but this one, I’ll take it.
Their fries are good and they claim that it’s hand cut and I believe them. I didn’t like the coleslaw, too bland and it doesn’t sit well with the crab cake’s flavoring.
I ordered bread pudding for the dessert, given portion size vs the price, i would say that it’s a fair pricing. I didn’t like the sauce at first but when you mixed it with the pudding and the ice cream, the true flavors harmoniously brings out the best experience.
Overall, i will recommend Patsy's if you want a new, chic, not so loud and well lit ambiance and the food is competitive enough to rival some mid to high end restaurants but they need to create a signature dish that they will be known for to set them aside from the traditional american restaurant and make a mark for their name otherwise it will be the same case.
Attached to their restaurant is a bakery and a steak house which i will explore and write a separate...
