This is a spot my son and I have been going to since he was 3 years old. This past weekend he turned 14 and we returned. First the service is A1! We were greeted politely when we entered. We were going to sit in and eat, but decided to grab our food to go and eat it on the beach. The restaurant is very neat and presentable. A tiny bit squishy, but everyone wants to eat here. Lol The restroom has been remodeled beautifully. Now I don't mind using the restroom. It's lovely. This time around we just ordered basic stuff. A small cheese pizza and Buffalo wings. Usually when I get buffalo wings I prefer all drumsticks. When I asked for all drumsticks, the man taking my order said "no problem." Nice! A lot of times I get a response like. We can't do that. They were happy to give me all drumsticks. The wait wasn't too bad at all. But at the same time, my son and I met a very lovely couple, who I will never forget. We chatted with the our entire wait time. But even their food showed up at a reasonable time span. Once they brought our food out it just smelled delicious! I totally forgot how delicious their pizza was. The crust was nice and crunchy. The body of the pizza slice nice and thin. The flavor of the sauce used on this pizza was just out of this world delicious! The wings weren't drenched in sauce like I usually like them to be. But they were perfect. It was the perfect amount of buffalo sauce. Not too much, and not too little. The flavor was amazing. So flavorful and delicious. Cooked perfectly. For my taste at least. And the picture I posted is so embarrassing, because I took a slice and ate it before I could post the pictures. Lol sorry, but that should show you how delicious...
Read moreI have been visiting Coronado for decades and have walked by Village Pizzeria for years, always saying I want to try this place, the food smelled delicious.
Finally took the plunge and went with my family for an early dinner. First impressions... limited indoor seating, mostly outside. Found some of the food items a little pricey, but prices are going up everywhere and it's Coronado.
We ordered 2 spaghetti with marinara sauce, one of them with a side salad, and we ordered a greek salad. Aldo ordered 1 soda. Total order $54 with tip. Person behind the register seemed annoyed to be there.
We got our food and sat outside. It was cool and one of the employees was nice enough to turn on a heat lamp.
Food: the pasta was sub-par, runny sauce and the pasta didn't seem well cooked. The side salad with Italian dressing was really good (extra $4). The garlic knot bread (2) we okay, nothing to write home about. The greek salad was nothing special and didn't seem any bigger than my $4 side salad, they charged nearly $13.
We noticed a couple next to us leave more than half their pizza and another couple left and nearly returned an entire tray, at least 8 pieces of the garlic knots.
To say the least, I was not impressed and can't understand why people flock to this place and rate it like it's the next best thing to sliced bread. Perhaps they have low standards and don't care about the taste of their food. Perhaps it's because it is so close to the Hotel Del and it's one of the only pizza places nearby.
Go at your own risk. I...

The order can take a while if the place is full, but the food is worth the wait.
They have a lot of options to eat, including vegetarian options. The taste is great, and the portions are generous. The place can be very busy on the weekends, so you may have to wait in line to get your order. However, the wait is usually worth it.
