Made reservations for happy hour at 3pm for six on New Year's Eve. They told us they ran out of hot chocolate already which is what made us make a reservation and drive an hour half after seeing a TikTok post on them. We were craving hot chocolate like we had in Paris. Oh well, it happens. Then they also ran out of several cheeses from their limited cheese selection and a wine off their happy hour list which they had like only 5 options to choose from! For a very very very limited menu during 3-6pm and you're out of 1/3 of your menu items at the start of your happy hour is kind of crazy but it is what it is until... they bring out our $45 cheese and meat board and the male server apologized they are out of the meat and only had 3 pieces of saucisson meat.. the male server delivering the food apologized and said he'd take off the extra charge for the meat since they were out of course. But you know what… we saw another cheese platter go out after ours and they were fully loaded with cured meat that they just told us they ran out. Then here's the clincher.. I noticed that towards the bottom of my ice Americano there was something floating. I thought it was espresso grind... but it wasn't... it was a friggin bug with legs and wings. I did let our female server know and she did apologize and even said "man you guys can't catch a break here". When I got the bill I noticed that they did not take off the meat charges as promised and when I couldn't find our server, I saw there was someone at the hostess desk and she acknowledged she was the manager. I explained to her that I was charged for the meat that they said they ran out of and I also explained that they had ran out of many of their menu items and I had a bug in my iced americano. Instead of an apology her response was "well you drank most of your iced coffee "... like what???!!! First of all I didn't ask for it to be taken off, I just wanted her to know of our experience. FFS it’s a $5 coffee… leave it on the bill as you please. I could understand her reaction if I drank all of it and then complained that it tasted bad.. that's one thing, but the fact that I DRANK that thing with a bug in it the entire time did not make this an enjoyable experience for sure. I mean if you eat most of your food and then find a cockroach at the bottom of the dish... oh well you ate it all so tough would be this mgr's response. Look bugs can fly in mid drink too but it’s the mgr’s response that threw me over the edge. Real poor management here. Our female server was fine and I even tipped the bill since it's not her fault they ran out of everything and the male server didn't communicate to her that they ran out of the meat we ordered, The mgr did adjust the missing item and the americano but no apology. Just a note that we passed by the restaurant 1.5 hours later to go back to our car after a stroll and guess what?!!! THEY HAD THE $15 HOT CHOCOLATE that we saw patrons sipping in their outside dining. I am a sucker for TikTok and this one I was bamboozled. Heard brunch is great so maybe try brunch but...

the entrees were good and reasonably prices, the portion of pommel frite was pretty impressive, I wish they were a little thicker and a little less dry, a little more caramelized/golden too but the burger made up for it, the toasted bun got a bit burnt but it was good quality so that didnt bother me too much. the neat was cooked well, the cheese was very good and I love that they served it in a little "poelon",the caramelized onion were great! all in all it was good but I dont think I ll take the burger next time. My boyfriend really enjoyed his Benedict croissant, the hollandaise was very good and the eggs cooked perfect, the croissant flaky as it should, "chapeau!"
the wine selection is great and diverse, there is one for you on there for sure! it was served at the right temperature and just what I wanted, from my area of birth (although mispelled). My boyfriend loved the taittinger (although mispronounced), always glad to see that on a menu....
the soufflé was beautiful and really good (you have to like eggy taste though) and I didnt feel like I waited that long for it, I really liked the raw sugar cube on side of my espresso to pair with the subtitle aroma of the grand marnier, that was great. I usually fear creme anglaise but this one was just perfect pairing with the soufflé! I finnished the whole little side of it....
the waitress seem to be the one who didn't really want to wait for the soufflé, mind you it was a late lunch, so I get it...eager to take our order, about 2-3mn to make up my mind with a menu for drinks and food...then trying to suggest not to order the soufflé?...I mean, on coronado you usually have tourist who want to take their time, what s the rush? it s not a cheap bite, it s kind of an experience, I d like to be able to feel relax and appreciate it...
as a French expat I was glad to see a "bar a vin"/bistrot emerge un such a cute area of the city to spend my day off on. I wouldn't mind coming back but I don't know if I should have been so looking forward to/ excited to try it, I ended up a bit...
