A friend and I went to PF Chang's in Corpus Christi last night. We sat at the bar because there were no tables open. We ordered rum punch as well as 4 different kind of sushi for my friend and sweet and sour chicken for me. The drinks had a weird aftertaste but the bar maid tried to fix it for us. I ended up switching to tea. When we ordered I specified that my sweet and sour chicken needs to be nowhere close to shrimp as I am allergic to shrimp. We got the food and I ate two bites of my chicken and my throat started tingling. I stoped immediately. As I had switched handbags I did not carry any antiallergic medicine with me so I asked the barmaid if they had any Benadryl. She went off on a tangent about how this is not her fault and she had properly marked the plate etc. etc. ... I had not even said anything about what was happening except asking for a Benadryl. She huffed off to get the manager. I was trying to stay calm and just chew on ice. The manager came up and said he heard that there was something wrong with my food. I said no, just that there must have been shrimp on something as I was having an allergic reaction and I was just asking for a Benadryl, no special treatment nor was I accusing anyone. He said they did not but that he will not charge me for my food etc. I said that they might want to consider having something unhand for such a case and that I was going to get some. I did feel that I was still in control so I was not panicking. I did feel odd though that the Barmaid acted so rudely and never came back to refill our drinks nor talk to us. The manager gave me a coffee and I ended up paying for the rest of the food and leaving. It's odd that such a big chain is not more prepared and their staff is utterly unqualified to handle the slightest bit of a problem. I was not out to get any benefit just to get relief from the swelling in my throat and because there is no pharmacy close to there I think they should have some kind of allergy medicine on hand. The receptionist, I believe her name was Stacey attempted to seat us at a booth along the front window with the afternoon sun brightly shining in. I told her no. She than said she could pull the shade. I ask her, you see it's a problem why didn't you get it ready before you brought a customer over here. I than ask to sit at one of the 4 small emty booths along the back wall. She said no and started walking us the opposite direction to the other side. Once again I have a restaurant employee who thinks I'm here to serve her. I ask the wife if she wanted to go eat somewhere else were customers are treated important. It's Valentine's day and she wants here lettuce wraps. So I asked the receptionist her name sat down. Our server was soon there and on top of things. We had our chicken lettuce wraps and our pork egg roll and everything was delicious. Well let's order another round of the same. So the order was taken. Fresh drinks and 10 minutes later the server came by stating she just checked and there not up yet. It's now 20 minutes when she comes back by and said she told the kitchen our order was missing. She than gets busy taking a order at a large family. She stopped by afterwards, now 35 minutes and I requested the check and cancel the order. The order still wasn't ready. Here comes the manager, NO, please, not the Manager! Here it is, she say "I here you having some problems with us tonight ". Well no problem here, just get me the check and cancel the order. Read moreMy first time here. I wasn’t greeted and it was not busy at all. There was “no wait” they have to clean a table. Then we sat off to the side and they started seating all these walk ins after us family after family that came in. Then one of the workers had to scold the two girls in the front for not seating us we waited almost 30 mins. , then they took us to the back where there were tons of open tables. Then we waited for 45 minutes and no one came and took our drink order , they only gave us 1 menus for two adults and a kid. And no kid menu. I had to go ask for one and the girl in the front was extremely bothered that I asked? It was the worst/weirdest experience I’ve had at a restaurant. We just left without saying anything because we waited another 5 minutes and still not waiters or anyone took our order or said hi. Mind you it was not busy…and as we were walking out none of the hostess said bye or thank you. I won’t ever go back, I can’t understand the attitude of the hostess, and after she was scolded for not seating us and seemed to get real nasty with us but it wasn’t our fault they forgot about us… idk. I tried calling after to speak to a manager because I’ve never been treated like that but she hung up on me. I’ve worked in service and I know it’s sucks so I was super nice.
