I tried visiting Waffle House a total of about 6 times. The first time I should have stopped when I developed a cold sore on my lip after being served by the weekend crew. Being that I needed a place to spend some time in the mornings, I went back for more and it ended up okay because the week crowd that runs the place is pretty damn good. I went back the morning after Memorial Day and sat down to a cup of about 4 Hour old coffee. I let that slide and got to the bottom of the cup and realized it was filthy. I then asked for another cup of coffee, a waffle and a scrambled egg. My server was polite and tried to avoid the disaster by telling the woman who appeared to be a manager to lay off of his table but she didn't listen and proceeded to make my Waffle and take it off of the iron with her bare hands right after she put a mop down. I witnessed it and asked her to make me another waffle and gave her a $5 bill so she wouldn't mess with it in some weird way. She poured me the last bit of that four-hour our old pot of coffee which I refused to drink and ask for a fresh pot. When I witnessed her put her hand down the front of her pants, I started recording. She then turned her back towards me and did something that made the top of what was supposed to be a complimentary second waffle have black dots all over it. She put the food down in front of me and I was already freaking out inside (was being overly polite to them, though) when I was splashed with mop water on purpose by another male who was working. It literally went all over me and my food. I left a $20 bill on the table and told them that I wasn't going to eat the food but I will pay for it. When I got outside oh, I went back in to get my $20 bill back because I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for something like that. Moral of the story never ever ever go to Waffle House in Covington. I contacted the health department and Waffle House corporate as soon as I left the building, and because corporate opens at 7:30 I will be...
Read moreWaffle House had the best waitress, Kara in Covington, KY off of 4th Street. We have been to this Waffle House, many times for several years. The food has always been cooked to order, delicious & satisfying. Waffle House has added some new items to the menu. You must try; The Waffle House egg, hash browns, with onions, sausage, gravy and cheese bowl. We really enjoyed our breakfast! I like my food to be layered, this menu option, The breakfast bowl filled me up. What a wonderful meal. My favorite way to eat breakfast. Plus, I added just a tiny bit of Red Hot sauce, just a little, this gave my breakfast bowl, taste even better. Also, we had to order 'pecan waffles' made to go. They were a great snack later in the day. Yummy So much good food fills you up fast..
Our waitress Kara, was an awesome helper. She quickly got our order, right away. She brought us, 2 cups of nice and hot coffee. We needed equal and creamer packets. She had them in her pocket. She brought our breakfast to the table. She will bring our bacon and waffles, when they are done cooking. Then we asked for Red hot sauce. Kara was always ready to help us. She brought a coffee pot to fill up our cups. She brought out the Waffles in a to-go plate, with syrup and hot butter. Waffle House has some of the best crew, they worked well together! We appreciate everyone on the crew, They made our Friday,...
Read moreWe have been a fan of Waffle House for quite some time now. This is a newly opened place - based on other reviews it seems it had terrible reviews and went for remodeling. Well, it seems the remodeling is paying off well. We went at about 1 in the night and the place was buzzing with the crowd.
Food: We have been fans of Waffle House's Egg & Cheese and this place lives up to the reputation. We ordered 2-Eggs and a Pecan Waffle with Peanut Butter. Both of them were great. I am also a fan of their portions which are just right unlike IHOP where they have loaded plates and a loaded bill too. So, if you're not VERY hungry and want to eat something quick without putting a hole in your pocket, Waffle House is the place for you.
Ambiance: The ambiance is nice - very clean and bright. They have these black and white photographs from old times which speaks about the history of the place. It is always great to know the history of the place in pictures.
Service: The service was good. Although the lady could have smiled a little but apart from that, no loose ends in the service. It looks like they also had an expediter to make sure the orders are delivered quick enough and it went pretty much like that for us. The food and the coffee and the juice arrived pretty quick.
Overall, a nice place based on my experience. Definitely...
