This place looks like a French patisserie and is so clean and classy that you will think you've walked into heaven! Blush pink moulding and lavish marbled tiles...but wait, I'm getting off track. I opted for gelato, and I was told I could sample as many flavors as I desired. I tried 2 and asked for a scoop of each. This is where the 2 star review comes in.....I was told I can only have one flavor per bowl! And they put a good 3 scoops of gelato in each bowl! After I left, I started thinking how ridiculous it is that you can only have one flavor per serving. I mean...what gelato/ice cream shop does that?! It was $7 per gelato bowl, so they suggested I get 2 different bowls so I could be able to have both flavors. Which is what I did....but I had to spend $7 x 2 bowls = $14 for like 6 scoops of gelato when all I wanted was one scoop of each flavor! In this economy, they will need to come up with a different business model. So for this reason, I will not return here. Although the gelato was good, I usually like to have 2 different flavors whenever I go out to have ice cream. Having to buy 2 separate bowls is beyond ridiculous!! Then I started thinking of kids who come here and who would want to have 2 different flavors and they will have to buy 2 separate bowls at...
Read moreI used to go to the Metairie location by lakeside mall before it closed and it was great. This location on the other hand is just terrible. The prices are higher and the quality is not nearly as good. The desserts were just bad, who is tasting these recipes and thinking people will like them. We were the only customers the whole time we were in there. I have a feeling you won’t be able to keep this location open for very long, which is sad because it’s a pretty shop. Do better. My wife just had the macarons we bought and they were so stale they were all crumbling. We also bought a cupcake that was very bland and dry. Absolutely...

We indulged in a comforting coffee and a rich hot chocolate. Beyond the tasty treats, what stood out was the exemplary service. The staff were not just attentive, but genuinely warm, making our visit all the more special.
I’m thrilled to see Sucre planting roots in Covington, and I wholeheartedly wish them every success in their new venture. Here’s to many more visits and sweet...
