So as far as America's 24-hour diner goes this isn't one because apparently they're not open 24 hours right off the turnpike exit in cranberry Pennsylvania where we got a hotel because we thought we could get food get the hotel and get out on the road early but of course it's closed and there's nothing else in that dumpster of a town. So we wake up and go down for breakfast because my wife always loved their breakfast slam and their pancakes and sausage and coffee as well. We go inside and get seated immediately and the hostess was very nice and asked us if we needed anything and where the bathrooms were if needed. The table was very gross it still had syrup and salt and silverware on the floor underneath of the table so it was weird when somebody came over and was bending over under the table to clean it and then spraying some sort of spray onto the table in front of the kids when the table should have been cleaned firsthand before anybody was even sat down. Not to mention the 30-minute wait for two pancakes each for the kids with a slice of sausage and toast for each of them and then my wife's pancakes and sausage and I got a thing called eggs in a basket. Basically dippy eggs in bread as well as a coffee for both of us. When it finally arrived they handed us syrup but it was empty so we used the syrup they have containers on the counter and it was disgusting there was a dead fly right on the lip of the dispenser as we poured it out and we only saw that and then she didn't want to eat her pancakes anymore which understandably and once the kids saw it they were grossed out and my dippy eggs were very undercooked they were running and gross and it looked like they cooked the pancakes too long on the one side and then flipped it real quick so the top would look good and then reflect it again and tried to cover it up with butter but they were still burnt at the bottom. So I don't recommend this place it's disgusting it's greasy it's gross and the people don't stand behind their product. To top this off they didn't even want to give us our money back even though nobody ate hardly anything because it was so gross. My wife didn't get anything after she returned her first meal because she was afraid somebody was going to do something to it even though there was literally a dead fly in the syrup that she was dumping on to the pancakes, and instead of sticking behind their product they said instead of giving us their money back they would give us a gift card for $40 to come back to Denny's but I didn't want that I just wanted my money back however there is a Denny's by us where we live that is very clean and very good people and they said that the card would be good there so to avoid any more hassle or inconvenience I just took the card and we'll use it when we go back home. honestly I wouldn't recommend this place it's filthy it's unclean it's unsanitary they don't stand behind their products the floors dirty it's gross even look at the salt and pepper shakers and the syrup containers anything that they give you even the little half cream containers they give you r absolutely gross it's like they refill them or something. I guarantee you more people get sick around this and don't understand why they got sick at breakfast but it's places like this....
Read moreAlthough I'm not very fond of one star reviews I have to say this one deserved it. Well attending is late night dinner with my family, at this location we experienced a not so pleasant visit. Our waitress will forgetful still maintained a level of professionalism. However, a young server who was "waiting on" hanging out with a group of high school students, clearly her friends was completely rude, disrespectful and showed no interest in caring for others in the dining room. The group was loud enough that my family couldn't interact with one another. Mind you this so called Denny's Waitress/Employee was supposed to be working. Her other teammates where asking her to get a mop and help or to perform other job related task, in which her response was to pretend not to hear them. As my family sat trying to enjoy dinner, my mother and daughters other grandmother decided to speak up. They had enough of watching this lack of care and arrogance continue on. It was not fair to her other teammates while she sit there and talk disrespectfully to her teammates, and show outbursts of anger and temper tantrums. My mother said, she said.. get a mop loud enough so she could here. No surprise the Young child started being defensive and talking back to one of Denny's guests in their dining room getting loud and obnoxious. My mother told the girl I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my life and that she would never make it if she didn't take her job more seriously. Her response was then don't come to Denny's. Her defense was nobody's telling her how to do her job or what she should be doing. She went into the back with the manager and from there we could hear them too loudly arguing and fighting. Afterwards she returned to her friends to continue on still being obnoxious unprofessional and a child. Amazed, shocked and highly disappointed with Denny's for allowing this type of behavior in their restaurant. As it is supposed to be a family-oriented setting. I will likely escalate this issue to their corporate offices. I assure you one star ratings rarely come from me I am not a Karen. But this situation certainly warrants it I hope this location can get their act together and get that type of ugly personality off their property so that it doesn't disturb future guests they may have dining at their location. Unless they are terminated immediately we will no longer dine...
Read moreSo I’m sitting here writing this in the restaurant because I’m just appalled. My table hadn’t even gotten their food yet. I feel awful for the table next to mine; the trainee chef mixed up their orders so seperate items were on the wrong plates. Waitstaff didn’t offer to have the kitchen fix it, didn’t offer extra plates (what if they didn’t feel comfortable enough to eating off each others plates?) just kept saying “sorry, he’s a trainee, yeah this is what he did wrong, sorry.”
I felt bad for them considering their order was incorrect on multiple different levels. Your job is literally to make the customer happy, and even sitting near them I could could clearly tell they were not.
I personally didn’t order food, after I received a dirty cup of water that had some disgusting brown sludge down the side of it that I had to wipe off.
all I listened to was yelling across the restaurant, and all the wait staff and management sitting in a circle at the counter bad mouthing other staff who I’m assuming weren’t present, laughing about them asking for promotions, and even whom seemed like management using profanity to eachother.
All in all my tables meal was “okay”, but very underwhelming. I’m very thankful I didn’t order anything, after watching a waitstaff explain their mistakes with plates inches from their mouths, and watching the waitstaff behind the counters constantly wiping snot from their nose onto their hands.
Also, it might be helpful to customers if you gave them napkins before they started eating their food. Sorry to interrupt your bull session to ask for them.
Also, asked for to go containers, and watched my waitress talking in the back for ten minutes before I got up and asked for a to go container from the young lady at the register. She was great.
I might just be critical because I’ve worked in the industry before; but y’all should be aware that clearly this is what outsiders see, and it’s not a professional environment at all.
I don’t think I’ll...
