I had the pleasure of visiting Johnny B's during my three-day stay in Dahlonega, and it quickly became my go-to spot each night. One of the things that stood out to me was their extended hours, as most places in downtown Dahlonega closed early. The first night I was there, I had the pleasure of meeting Casey, one of the bartenders. Casey provided excellent service and created a lively and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend trying their watermelon cocktail, "Stone Cold Casey," as it was absolutely delicious.
During my second night, I had the pleasure of meeting Josie, another fantastic bartender. Josie not only served yummy drinks but also introduced me to their garlic Parmigiano tater tots. Let me tell you, these tots were mind-blowingly delicious! The combination of garlic and Parmigiano was perfection.
On my final night, I was fortunate to have both Casey and Josie serving. There was a live band playing, adding to the already vibrant atmosphere. It was the perfect opportunity for me to try their pizza, and I opted for the Hawaiian pizza with pineapple, bacon, and ham on a thin crust. I must say, it was another mind-blowing experience. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the thin crust added a nice crunch.
Overall, my experience at Johnny B's was outstanding. The friendly and attentive staff, delicious drinks, and award-winning food make it a must-visit spot in Dahlonega. Whether you're looking for a fun night out or a satisfying meal, Johnny...
Read moreOnly reason this restaurant gets any business is because it was the only late night, spacious, cheap college drinking bar for awhile. BUT the smell of must and vomit is overwhelming because of the well under the bar that is hardly ever cleaned, as I was told. The few times I have been was a new, strange, terrible experience. Not until I called on the phone and spoke with a woman named Julie I decided to finally give this bad review. She answered the phone with an hello that sounded like she didn’t want to be alive much less working. I politely said, “it might be a long shot,” but asked if they found an expensive item I left the night before. She told me it was too busy for her to look for it (in a rude tone)... I am also a server in dahlonega and no matter how slammed we get I will never tell a person “no” whether it’s in person or on the phone for fear of bad reputation. I guess I just grew up differently than some. I understand to never apply for a job during peak hours but this was a simple question/task. I’m not sure the age of this woman but I’m guessing she is stuck here because a big girl job won’t hire her. Catch me with the caring, respectful, clean people at the new, “The Yard...
Read moreYesterday we were in Dahlonega , GA . So was everybody else . Autumn in the mountains … The parking situation was pretty dismal around the square making it impossible to visit out usual haunts , and while cutting through the college campus to go to the other side of town we “ discovered “ a college haunt , Johnny B’s Pizza . It had a lived in look, sprawling in an old building that was once a multi-storefront , now completely taken over by Johnny B’s. They had a bar , several dining rooms , a patio and a screened in porch . The pizza was Chicago thin , and pretty good . The cheese was not greasy , which means it’s good cheese, the pepperoni was a little bland , but not bad . My only complaint is I ordered extra cheese and heavy sauce and I think the server got confused and thought I said light sauce . The sauce that was there was pretty good . We had mozzarella sticks , they were hand battered . The pizza was tasty , and the wings were voted the best in town 6 years running by the local newspaper readership - my wife confirms that they are in fact , the best around , and she is a wing -nut !
Will be...
