Unfortunately, this was a complete miss for us. I'm staying at the Omni for a conference, and this place is conveniently located just across the lot and the menu looked good. We were seated and given chips and salsa right away. Our server, Daniel, was very busy with a few large groups of conference goers, and it took awhile to get our order. He did apologize for the wait, but at some point, you think the manager or someone else would have helped him with his tables. We ordered the guacamole, shrimp fajitas, and shrimp enchiladas with salsa Verde. The guac came out quickly and the presentation was beautiful, however it was way too salty. We both love salt on our food, but this was too much. We took one bite each and told the manager. We could see all of the chefs and manager trying it in the back, and when I asked her if she thought it was salty, she supported her chefs and said she must be used to it that way. Our food came and I thought my shrimp fajitas was delicious. The shrimp were seasoned well as well as the vegetables. It was a very generous portion all together. The guac that came with it was from the exact same batch as our appetizer and so it stayed on the plate. Be better and think that through next time. My BF's salsa Verde was again way too salty. Not sure if this was done purposefully (we'll just say it wasn't) and that the chef just has a heavy hand when seasoning. Again, we saw them taste it in the back when the manager inquired if anything was wrong with the food. My BF is an artisan cook, so he knows about seasoning, and absolutely requires food is properly salted, so when he thinks it's too salty, it's a problem. When the bill came, the manager was very kind and took both the guac and enchiladas off the bill and didn't say anything. We appreciated it very much and thought it was the appropriate action. Between the host and the server, we could tell they didn't really want to be working. They put in as minimal effort as possible at their job. The bus girl and the manager were extremely efficient and hard working to offset the rest of the staff. We won't be back, and I hope this was just a bad night, and that the service and food can be better. I don't recommend this place, but if you go, I hope you have a better experience than we did.

We were seated immediately by Mariyah on the patio. It was our preference it was too cold inside. Plus it was a beautiful afternoon! Being that we were eating outside we had to order from the bar. Terra was the bartender for the day she was amazing. Our food literally took about fifteen minutes from the time we ordered to the time it reached the table. Our drink orders was being replenished without hesitation. Didn't catch the man name who took care of our table with such a great demeanor, attentive and great customer service. I'm very sorry I missed his name tag. Now back to lunch... my sister Ann and I ordered the Lemon Ave 75 it came with two enchiladas beef/cheese, rice and bean...and a bonus deep fried 🌮 😋! That was the best taco ever!!! Mariyah had some down time and gave us a tour of the remaining restaurants and hotel that is operated by The Omni hotel. I haven't lived in Texas in over thirty years and everything changed for the better. We parked on a meter for $2.00 You can get free parking for up to four hours free at Cafe Herrera restaurant. Now my next visit will be at the sports bar inside the hotels there's over 70 TV in there. That sounds like a good place to be for a game.

Our service was gracious and kind but most of all expedient. Located within walking distance of the Downtown Dallas Hyatt Reunion Conference Center; even in the Texas heat. The atmosphere is one of sophistication and class with a little above average pricing, but worth the customer service and satisfying portions provided in the meals. When we arrived, we were greeted at the entrance with an inviting smile and seated immediately followed by the bottomless basket of freshly made tortilla chips and salsa. There were six of us connecting over our brief conference break that was also limited by the minimal time of walking there and back, but caused an urgency in our service. Without even requesting the timely service, the anticipated service was impressive. Our drinks arrived almost at the same time our chips and salsa did, and our orders were taken one by one with attentive focus by our server, water was refreshed without hesitation or interruption to the flow of our table conversation. Even with the extremely satisfied service most of us still had to take our leftovers or unable to eat due to our time frame and intense conversations. I was thankful for the chips and salsa that held me over until our next break where we were able to enjoy the authentic fresh ingredients blended together for each of our unfinished dishes. The flavor was one of passion and inspiration that the cook must have added to make the savory flavors not just pleasant to the pallet, but filling to the spirit as well. I will definitely visit this place again without rush or urgency to embrace the full experience this Cafe has to offer. I was so rushed, I didn't even get any photos to share.... Guess I'll just HAVE to go...

I would have loved to of reviewed this place on its food because the food was delicious. But unfortunately I'm having to give this place a 3 star due to service. Yes the place was busy (there was NCA Nationals gong on in Dallas) but that was not even the issue, we expected to wait and what not. The issue was when we sat down the waitress never asked would this be separate checks or one check. There was clearly 5 adults & 6 children with us. Due to it being slammed the drink refills were lacking but again food came out pretty quickly in my opinion. The issue was the check when it was time to get the check the waitress brought just one and we said wait we aren't all together please separate the check, she tells us matter a factly that they don't do that here and that it was our fault we didn't tell her! Gets even better when we start having to cash app one lady in our group that covered the whole thing she notices that the money we sent doesn't cover the bill that she paid! That's when we noticed the automatic gratuity of almost $60....we would have tipped her....but that's not the only issue it appears she wouldn't get that automatic gratuity if the check would have been split, so that was off the top annoying but even with the added it all up with that we still weren't adding up. Then we had to break it down and noticed there were extra plates added which drove the bill up. We ended up asking for those things to be refunded.....which the lady had to wait for her bank to release back to her. Extremely unprofessional. Again food was amazing just hated the attitude when we asked to separate the bill which turned into an...
