I’ve been getting great food and service from Eatszis for many years (10 years to be precise). I’ve always been treated well by the staff, the food has always been exceptional, and I’ve always been fine spending a ton of money there when I’m in Dallas (2-3 times a month).
For the first time ever, I got some food from Eatzis that was just plain not good. I bought two quiches for my family and guests last Friday evening. Heated em up the next day and expected them along with the other $300 in purchases to taste great. The quiches were terrible. I’ve had em dozens of times from Eatzis. And they were always great! This time they were gross. I’ve never brought anything back to Eatzies. But this time I did.
Here’s the problem. I asked for a manager. Gilberto helped me. Instead of “let me get you a credit” what I got instead was “you need to heat it up.” Dah. Then he said “you don’t need to cook it, it’s already cooked” dah again. Then it was “Where is your receipt?” Does anyone save their receipt from Eatzis? No. I’ve never had a problem with their products so no need for a receipt. Never returned anything before but their stickers were all over the packaging. Dates, ingredients, instructions, how much I paid for it. The whole thing. Did he think I stole it? A 60 year old well dressed adult? His settlement was I’ll give you credit for 1 but not both. Said we ate too much. I reminded him it was unediable and we threw away the slices that tasted horrible. His response was “well no one else had a problem with it”. Really?
I can deal with overpriced food if it’s good and good every time. I can deal with food that sometimes doesn't live up to the excitement and hope/hype. What I can’t live with is crappy customer service. He had every opportunity to keep a satisfied customer in spite of exorbitant prices and occasionally not so great food. All he needed to do was credit me for the misses on the food that came with the implied reputation for being great, when this time it wasn’t. He said “since we only returned 3 of the 8 slices of quiche we were not eligible for a refund”. I already told him we threw them out because they were disgusting.
His coup de gra was to say on the way out the door “next time keep your receipt. And don’t wait two days to return it.” I reminded him I live 90 mins away and I’m not driving 90 miles to return his mistake. I won’t need a receipt next time. I’ll keep my $600 a month in my pocket and he can keep my $17.99 I wasted on his poorly prepared quiche.
Good customer service would have made me keep coming in. Thank God they helped me break my habit of overpaying for food I can get at...
Read moreI’m visiting from Charlotte and was looking forward to Eatzi’s. Prior to moving I always popped in to get oatmeal and other pastries. I love their food and culture. Today I went in and a Hispanic gentleman had an attitude about making my oatmeal. He told me that my request for more oatmeal (less fruit) , after giving me less than I’d ever received in prior visits would flood my cup. It wasn’t even a fourth of the way full at the time. I told him I eat there all the time. I then placed an order for bacon. He turned to someone else and asked them to prepare it. After some time I started looking around for my food and noticed the bacon sitting on the counter. I asked him why he had not called my name. He said very rudely, “that’s what happens when you’re on the phone.” I seriously doubt he would’ve said that to anyone else. He did a signaling motion to get my attention, according to him, but I hadn’t noticed. I requested a manager. He was rude from the time I walked in, to the comment about me being on my phone, to him mumbling words as I left. As I was speaking with a manager, Gilbert walked over and told her that the barista had called my name and basically called me a liar. I was offering her feedback and I have that right. Gilbert came over and hijacked the conversation. He wasn’t even close enough to hear this man’s attitude while making my oatmeal and the barista admitted to not calling my name or saying anything at all but did some hand motion prior to just sitting my food on the counter. This is why I relocated. The racism in Dallas is so disgusting. They handed most everyone their food and/ or were pleasant throughout the interaction. However, myself a paying customer was made to feel unwelcome and out of control when getting visibly upset about this man BLATANTLY LYING for his friend. Ridiculous! Then to add insult to injury Gilbert said, “don’t come back!” Trust I won’t! Degrading, distasteful, and ugly. Thank God I don’t think of him and his complexion, the way he obviously views mine. Very ugly...
Read moreMy partner and I used to eat regularly at the this particular location. We are both very forgiving and rarely complain. Recently we both bought chicken noodle soup and to our dismay it had a strange taste to it and seemed bad. We asked to speak with a manager to figure out what to do. He made us both show him the labels from the soup and after learning that they weren’t out of date he immediately dismissed us and walked away. Needless to say higher prices or not this kind of behavior towards a loyal customer is completely unacceptable! The manager could have approached this situation in so many different ways that would have been a win for everyone involved instead he decided he didn’t want our business anymore. We will not return to this Eatzis ever again. The amount of arrogance he displayed was an absolute disgrace to all the wonderful people that work so hard to make dining a pleasure there. What breaks my heart the most is that Virg who is maybe one of the most sweet and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and always makes us feel like we are eating at her personal residence will not see us as much as she used to. I may not buy another product there but I will drop in to say Hi to her. If the owner is reading this you need to give her a raise or bonus! Amazing how one bad apple can destroy the bunch. My suggestion is train your manager the first rule of good business, “The customer is Always Right!”Well as long as they aren’t completely nuts and you need to...
