I’ve been to 2 shows at Silo since it opened, one in the main room and one in their smaller, more intimate venue in the same building called Ductwork. From my 2 experiences, I can say this currently is the best electronic music venue in Dallas. I think they shine in the positive, welcoming atmosphere that you just don’t see anymore. No overbearing security, patdowns, and staff shining flashlights into the crowd trying to find an excuse to ruin someone’s night like Bomb Factory, Lizard Lounge(RIP), Stereo Live, and even some of the after hours venues have now. Only time will tell if troublemakers ruin that, but right now it seems that the respect is returned by the guests. It might be because I went to house and drum and bass shows, but I encountered no drunk assholes or people so zonked out of their mind that it makes you a bit uneasy. I like to see them booking this kind of music instead of just focusing on noisy Riddim which seems to be the thing in DFW. Friendly bartenders, free water refill station(!), and the best part of all: ample FREE PARKING in the area. I would have been happy with $10 parking, but free is unheard of. It is going to benefit them that they chose a location in an industrial zone instead of the busiest place in the city on the weekends. In Deep Ellum I’ve gone to multiple shows where I ended up driving around the district while it’s packed with standstill traffic for 2 hours trying to find an affordable parking spot, before giving up and parking in their parking garage for $40, going in and realizing there’s only 15 minutes left in the set. Other than that the sound system is great in both rooms(if you’re not someone who enjoys hearing damage like me you might want to bring earplugs), and a food truck outside in the smoking area. At both shows the DJ’s actually dropped down from the stage and met with fans afterward; either they’re extra friendly or the other venues won’t let them do that. I hope it stays this good! If you’re reading this, please be on your best behavior and don’t screw this up for the people who cherish this vibe.

I can’t overstate how thrilled I am that Dallas has such a nice new venue for EDM! I LOVE the location in the design district, it’s so convenient and because most of the local shops are closed long before the shows start, traffic is a breeze. Free/cheap parking is pretty easy to find if you don’t mind walking a few blocks and you get there early, but also their valet system is pretty efficient and you can’t beat how convenient it is. I will say I would not necessarily recommend uber/lyft unless you schedule one ahead. My friends had a lot of trouble trying to get one at 2am after Prydz. Probably a supply/demand issue. Everyone wants one and hardly anyone was driving that late! Once at the shows, it’s so easy to get drinks. They have two huge long bars on either side of the dance floor, and always tons of bartenders working. Save your cups! There is a free water station by the bathrooms, so no need to buy the little bottles of water. The show experience itself is incredible. The music is loud (bring ear plugs or buy some there!) but it’s easy to tell the speakers and sound system are super high quality. It sounds crisp. The production at these shows is crazy. The screens and lasers and light racks go off! I’m so glad they use see tickets and not Ticketmaster. Another bonus. I consider us very lucky to have such a good venue in Dallas that attracts so many huge name artists. I can’t believe in just six months I’ve seen Illenium, William Black, Eric Prydz, REZZ, Deadmau5, RL Grime b2b Knock2, Levity, and more!

On 3/29/2024 at approximately 10:15 PM, I arrived at SILO Dallas to attend the Benny Benassi show. Upon arriving in the parking lot, I observed that all handicapped parking spots were open and not blocked by cones or signage. I parked in the space furthest from the entrance and proceeded to hang my valid state-issued handicapped placard on the rearview mirror.

While doing so, an older bald white male (approximately 40–50 years old, appearing to be in a valet uniform) ran up to my vehicle and blocked my driver’s door from fully opening. In an aggressive tone, he repeatedly shouted, “BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP — unless you can’t walk, you can’t park here.”

Caught off guard, I responded politely, “I’m sorry? I have a valid permit issued by a doctor.” Instead of de-escalating, he raised his voice, saying, “We’ll tow you if you stay here” and “This is private property.”

A second valet (described as a short Hispanic male, approx. 20–30 years old) approached but did not intervene. Despite the fact that I am not obligated to disclose my medical condition, I attempted to explain the reason for my placard. I remained calm and respectful throughout.

Eventually, I asked, “Where should I park then?” The older valet finally responded with, “Go to valet,” and walked away.

At that point, I was clearly upset. I moved my car about 35 feet and allowed valet to take over parking. I was not given a valet slip or receipt.

Upon exiting, I identified a manager (white male, 30s, beard, wearing a hat). I explained the situation to him, but he avoided eye contact, simply shook his head, and offered no apology or attempt to resolve the issue.

This entire experience was humiliating, especially as it happened in front of other patrons. The approach and behavior of the valet staff were aggressive and discriminatory, particularly considering I followed all legal procedures regarding handicapped parking.

I emailed the venue using their contact us 4/1/2025 and got an email right away back stating that "Please allow us 72 hours to respond. Thank You!" I also sent a follow up email with no reply as I write this review on 4/11/2025. I also checked their website that specifically addresses their accessibility policy which addresses the matter above.

I am giving SILO the opportunity to address this, and reach out...

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a rave before this Friday 01/31, My best friend and I went into the restroom together around 9:30 when we got there to have a girl time chat and be in the bathroom. One of the janitors came to knock on the door, so of course we open it thinking it’s one of our other friends. We then close it realizing it’s not our friends. Once we’re done using the bathroom, a grown man and a few other people working there walking into the restroom, looking in the bathrooms. We leave the restroom and walk towards the bar as our night had just began, for me to be jerked away from my friends completely and utterly disrespectfully without being told, why or what the cause maybe. The head of security then tells me if I’d like to play games He can play them right back. I was completely assaulted and accused of smoking weed in the restroom when I was completely sober and all my joints were unlit in my bag. My favorite part about raids are the crowd and the vibe of the whole place, but I was completely took in for a turn. Not to mention, while he jerked me away from my friends they completely had my phone and all he could do was scream at me to leave the property. I’ve never felt so disrespected and attacked in my life. To reiterate, I was not smoking in the bathroom nor was i doing anything illegal in the restroom. I will be pressing charges on the Head of security for this event. I even talked to the police outside afterwards telling them what happened and what went down and he continued to come over and assault me while talking to the police, and because they’re just there trying to do their job all they said was you have to listen to him. When you were at a place like this, you should know that it’s about setting a safe environment will also respecting others. I’ve never been so upset in my life. I was so excited for the spring, and attract bigger named artist. I even have tickets for events in March and May. But unless some action is taken to remove this individual, I don’t know if me or any of my friends will attend...
