Today I went to the Sonic Drive-in on Forest Lane near 75. I arrived sometime between 5:45-6PM. There was 2 cars ahead of me. One drove off and the other one pulled up to the speaker box to place an order. The individual sat there for a while before pulling ahead. I get to the speaker box to place my order and nobody says anything. I wait and wait, then I yelled hello is there anybody there several times. I wanted to drive off, but my daughter was really hungry and wanted chicken. I pull around and had to wait for the individual in front of me to place their order, pay, and wait for it to be cooked. I finally pull up to the window to place my order. This was at 6:10PM. I paid, which I should have not been charged and waited for them to cook my order. I waited another 10 minutes for my food. This is the second time in less than a week that I have been in the drive-thru and nobody came on the speaker to take my order. I do not want to have to patronize another Sonic because this location is near my humble abode. I would appreciate it if Sonic would better train their employees to pay attention and listen for customers in the drive-thru. If this happens again, I will take my business elsewhere. I am adding to my original post which was over a week ago. I went to the Sonic on Forest Lane near 75 on May 5, 2021 at 5:48PM. I pulled up to the drive -thru and there was a vehicle in front of me. I assumed that person ordered and pulled around to pay and get order. I pulled up to the speaker and nobody said anything at first. Then a minute later a woman comes on and says I will be with you in a minute. Several minutes passed and she never came back on to place my order. The customer behind me pulled off and left. I was about to leave and go across the street to another fast food restaurant, but my daughter really wanted the popcorn chicken. I pulled up and the employee at the window looked dumbfounded when he saw me. I place my order and paid for it. I had to wait 8-10 minutes more to get my food. I do not like the service I am receiving when I visit this establishment. I will remember next time to go out of my way to another sonic so that I can be treated with the respect that a customer deserves. I choose to buy food from here and it would be nice to get some decent...
Read moreSkimming Cashier. Lidia has a problem with giving back change. It seems she will count your coins slowly, so you take off and leave it. Face it, we are very hurried in the mornings. Someone I know told me of this, so I tested it myself. Yep, she was counting slllloooowwwwlyyyy, even looking up at us as I waited for the change back.
Now before you start fussing they make $2.xx and hour and all that, I know all about that. I was raised by waitresses and I remember when they made way less and/or literally worked for just tips. 'IF' Lidia had been running the small order out to my car, I would have given her 3 or 4 bucks and drove off for say just drinks, she would have deserved a tip since she would be working 'Car-Hop'. BUT SHE WAS WORKING THE WINDOW AND WE ORDERED AT THE WINDOW, so no tip was needed.
Apparently this has been going on for some time, and the person I was with started to take off, I told them to wait. She opens the sliding window and asked of we were awaiting change. I said yes, I gave you X dollars and cents, you owe me X cents. She laughed nervously and handed back the change. Then looked at us like we just robbed the place.
Look, I am all for giving people that work as Wait-People, Car-Hop's and such Tips, but I am not for surreptitiously acquiring extra money through such means. Which is exactly what she appeared to be doing. It is a passive scam in my book; where you hope people will literally NOT want to wait for you to finish counting the money and just drive off. The few cents change wasn't the issue, it is the thought she was going to make a few cents of me and many other customers, which adds up to several dollars. THIS is my book is wrong and shouldn’t be allowed. If you can’t count change properly then you couldn’t be working...
Read moreWe went there last night to get a couple of drinks and ice cream through the drive through window. We asked for our order and the person through the call box repeated our order. When we got to the window, one of the male workers asked us to repeat our order. Not even one item in, he interrupted us and then proceeded to give us the wrong items. We requested that they give us the correct items.
We told the same guy that we had requested a larger drink. We handed him the drink and he proceeded to dump it into a bigger cup. Then we told him that we were still missing items. It turns out that even though they had repeated back our order, that they hadn’t ringed it up.
Another person came out of the window and requested to see our receipt and we told her that they didn’t correctly ring up our items even though they had correctly repeated everything back to us. We told her that we still wanted our items. She rudely proceeded to tell us that she wasn’t the one that rang up our order. And instead of just politely charging us for the rest of our items that they missed, she said that “we are going to have to charge you because that’s just they way we do things.”
I don’t know what she was trying to imply, but this was very unprofessional behavior. She had no reason to have given us such a bad attitude and could have just taken responsibility for their mistake. There was no reason for them to have escalated the situation when they could have just charged us for our items and we could have been ok...
