If you are looking to finance your vehicle, and your credit is not the best, please stay away from Santander. The interest rate is extremely high, which makes the monthly payment astronomical, and truely unaffordable. As a consumer, you are not in a position to negotiate, due to your credit. When reaching out to this company, I shared my hardship with this company, and there was no empathy at all. The only solution is to surrender, give back the vehicle. There's nothing that can be done, because they don't refinance or so any type of modification.👀 This may be fabricated, because I know finance companies have the power to do so. But here's the part that was irritating. They sent a survey, and I was extremely truthful. So the attached letter is the response from the survey that was completed. Reads as though they were actually considering trying to help my situation! Yeah that was not the case. Same non-empathetic system and person. Robin stated that unfortunately, things happen in life with everybody. It was the smugness for me. Then when you surrender your veheicle, they come after you for a debt that you TRIED to take care of, because let's be honest, as soon as you drive off the lot the value goes down instantly, and you are not able to get the money it's worth. If you go cheaper, you can't, because the vehicle you need for a lower payment, the money that you owe is too much to add to the lesser costing vehicle, because it's older, and with more miles! So basically you're doomed. Then they harrass for the debt, after they sold the car that you returned. Just a jacked up system all the way around. It's basically extortion. They prey upon people's wants, needs, and desires, knowing that if they get in a situation, the vehicle is new enough for them to take back, and resale, and still get their money. In 2024, I purchased a 2020 Honda at CarMax in Chicago and secured a high-interest loan from Santander USA. Despite having a good credit rating and consistently paying on time (this is my second car financed with them), I was given a high interest rate of 16.98%. I accepted this rate because I drive for a living.

I am trying to send extra payments toward the principal, but their system does not indicate how to do this. When I called Santander for assistance, the representative provided incorrect information. I then requested to speak with a manager, who told me that I need to set up an automatic payment and, on the same day, make an extra payment toward the principal.

The manager told me “you are OK because you always pay on time” but did not offer better rates or loan terms. Not mentioned the bank appreciated my business.

I plan to make eight payments of $2,000 each to eliminate my debt with Santander USA and its high-interest loans. This is a significant financial effort, but it will save me money in the long run since Santander USA charges interest every day.

Originally from Burleson but we lived in Huntington Beach for 10 years. I worked in CRE during that time, we were regular guest of the Guild hotel starting the week they launched, they were still staining the wood trim outside of the elevators and have been a guest through the transition into Mint House, we're now Peridot residents. We were originally on the 22nd floor, now 39th floor. Some things to note, in high winds you can feel the building away above floor 35. On the top two floors on the windiest days you feel a bit of a constant bobbing, like you're on top of a flagpole. All of that said, the building is extremely safe and very well maintained. Having daily access to the tunnel system as well as Thanksgiving Square as our back yard are amazing amenities. Need to add more grills and TV/Sound system to the pool area!! Also please run the lobby escalators on Sundays; we live on property 365 days per year!! ...
