This place is the worst the customer service is horrible. Ordered to go while sitting outside the restaurant. It took forever to get the food. The guy at the front counter was very rude. You would think when buying 50 to $60 worth of food from a new restaurant that has a reward system you would be asked to put in your phone number, but I wasn't offered the opportunity to do so because the cashier was too scared of me open carrying a gun in Texas so he didn't greet me. He ask my name and threw my food on the counter from a distance. He then pushed the button for my total and stood back as if I was going to blow up the cash register. Next when I asked about Reward Points he shook his head sideways at me back and forth while telling me no sorry I can't do it. When I asked why not and explain to him that $60 worth of food is surely worth some points he tells me I have to come again and do it next time. I asked him why he didn't do it this time and he couldn't answer me because he was too busy staring at my holstered gun. After going back and forth with him for 5 minutes of him trying to dismiss me finally the lady packing the food got my name and phone number and said she'd talk with the owner to see what they can do. THEN I get home and due to them using cheap paper to-go plates all of my food fell out of the bottom of the cartons I literally got to eat nothing. I had to go and get tacos from a late night taco stand. Hands down go to Roti Grill you get way better service way better food and you don't get treated like a criminal for exercising your constitutional rights. I don't see these guys being in business long If the owner would like to get in contact with me with the phone number that I left there at the counter that would be great but if not hey who cares at least I got to leave a review for $60 worth of nothing. Hopefully I'll be able to come back and edit this review saying they made it right but as of right now nothing has been done no one has reached out I even tried to call up there and they won't answer the phone. Forgive me typos in this review as I'm using voice to text but you guys get the idea...
Read moreFor credibility I have lived with both Indian and Pakistani roommates in college and had actual home cooked Indo/pak food.
I was originally very excited about tikka shack, but this excitement is no more. I ordered the spinach masala, tikka wrap, samosas, garlic naan, aloo chat, and tikka wings.
I would list out individual reviews but they would all unfortunately be the same.
Each item was flavorless, the sauces on the side were flavorless, and the garlic naan specifically was actually garlic negative. Dipping the wings in the Raita was like dipping water marinated wings in more water. The chat sauce was flavorless. It is genuinely impressive how spices and seasonings were able to be mixed in such a way that they all canceled out. The chat was onion flavored chick peas. The spinach masala what the consistency of water and was flavorless. The paneer (cheese) within the masala and the tikka wrap was not of the consistency I expect from paneer. It was stretchy like mozzarella, and I would not be surprised if it was either not prepared at all or not even actually paneer. The samosas were boiled potatoes in samosa wrap. It’s actually cheaper to buy Trader Joe’s samosas. Don’t get me started on the nastiest chewiest wings I’ve ever consumed in my life. The wings were “seasoned” but again tasted like nothing and were bowling alley quality. You are genuinely better off going to get wings from an AMF Bowling alley than the tikka wings. At least you can do something enjoyable.
Speaking of Trader Joe’s TV dinner style indo/pak food, it is genuinely better quality, taste, and seasoning than tikka shack.
I am so genuinely disappointed with tikka shack. All of the above was just under $60 at which point you are better off ordering from Roti Grill or Ariana Cuisine. If tikka shack was “cheaper” and tasted like water I would come to terms with that, but if it is going to be the same cost as the actual restaurant down the street, I can NOT justify spending money at this business. Given my experience I would only return if all of the above was $15-$20 the price of getting all of it from...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic experience at Tikka Shack in Dallas! From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was. The ambiance was welcoming and vibrant, making for a perfect dining atmosphere.
The food was out of this world! I tried the Tikka Masala Bowl, and it was a true standout. The sauce was rich, creamy, and packed with layers of flavor, perfectly spiced without being overwhelming. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection—each bite was a true indulgence. The Tandoori Wrap Bowl was equally impressive, with smoky, juicy chicken wrapped in soft, warm flatbread that had just the right amount of char. The combination of bold spices and fresh ingredients was absolutely perfect.
The garlic naan deserves a special mention—soft, pillowy, and perfectly baked with a generous amount of garlic. It was the ideal accompaniment to the Tikka Masala, soaking up all the delicious sauce with every bite.
To top it off, the Mango Lassi was the most refreshing, creamy drink I’ve had in a long time. Sweet, smooth, and with just the right tang, it was the perfect finishing touch to the meal.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed while offering great suggestions on the menu. If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering Indian flavors that will leave you craving more, Tikka Shack is the place to be. I also appreciate that they offer a great variety of vegetarian options, so there's something for everyone. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their...
