Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam ya guy pulled up to KGH excited to try a new island spot since its underrep'd around here....so how was it? 👇👇 Overall: it was just ok Ordered a jerk chicken meal and a patty w/coco bread to go I like that the to-go box wasn't a plastic tub so points there and the food looked/smelled good off the rip. But when I took a bite right away I knew this wasn't what I was hoping it would be. The flavor was super tame and mild which is not the mouth slapping flavor explosion I'm used to from jerk seasoning. The pieces were kinda greasy missing that charcoal flavor which made me feel like they weren't grilled 🤔... the veggies were solid and the rice & peas were on point but there was way more of that than anything else, at least throw some more greens to even it out some. The patty.... now while this patty was wayyyy better than a golden crust one it isnt made there and that unfortunately translates to a crust that is missing out on the flake and a filling that is just not exciting enough (I got SPICY? too), plus it wasn't even between the bread which wasn't fresh baked either but I get it That's a lot of work just the difference between fr3sh light melt in your mouth cocobread versus a day or two old reheat is night and day fahm. IYKYK Pros: nice clean open space and a solid menu of faves. Food is cooked well Great portion of rice & peas Good vibe Great potential Cons: Lack of intense flavor Missing the char Disproportionate meals

Visited this Authentic Jamaican spot via “word of mouth”. First impression I must say was pleasant, friendly staff, accommodating and welcoming. KRU Grill has a very warming atmosphere. Ambiance is there for an enjoyable night out with family, friends-whether it’s a small or large group and inevitably swaying to the engaging playlist that encompasses the experience alongside their great food. Portion sizes are exceptional for the prices and the flavor is on point-from the coconut infusion in the rice and peas that’s so light and fluffy to the perfect amount of seasoning and spice in its respective dishes. A magnificent contribution and myriad of fresh vegetables, herbs and spices gives their dishes an extra dimension and vibrancy. Plenty of seating for dining in or you can order to take out. They have a wide selection of drinks to pair with your meal as well as fresh homemade natural juice’s. Their restaurant is impressively clean. You can see a lot in how your food is prepared/handled. KRU Grill I wish you success and blessings on your venture in providing the opportunity to share your culture and flavors from de island. If you love Jamaican food, miss Jamaica or just a foodie like me who enjoys awesome flavorful food-stop by and support this amazing family owned restaurant-you’d be happy you did!.

Good Jamaican food and not so pricey. Seems like more of a takeout, but they do have enough tables to accommodate 30 people. Good meat beef patties and so so coco bread. Good rice and peas and oxtails. I recommend the large meal that can be for two people versus regular serving. Had the Irish moss, but was slightly disappointed with commercial can version and mostly vanilla taste. Don’t get meat patties late in the day after 6 pm as they are a bit stale and really toasted from sitting in the heating cabinet for a long time as they were preparing to close up for the day. I just wished they would have discounted if they were not fresh or told me they were not optimal. Overall, I would definitely eat there again as I’ve had the oxtails and meat patties midday and afternoon and they have been very satisfying. Good food and I would return and have gone back.

I usually travel to Waterbury at this very popular spot where they have real authentic fresh tasty dishes or sometimes cook my own Jamaican dishes. (ANYWAY) I decided to try this restaurant out since I received their advertisement in the mail, It's a very clean establishment and the staff was friendly prices was okay...my first complaint is that the food wasn't fresh at all! I order 2 large curry goat with steam cabbage and pumpkin rice which cost $45 I didn't mind paying that price but, I expect to receive quality food and bigger portions for that price....I asked for extra gravy on the goat and rice but I didn't get what I asked for. I got home anticipating to enjoy my food and that didn't happen! The goat was very tough and there was only about 7 pieces of meat, a hand full of rice and the cabbage was over cooked and the flavor wasn't there at all it was very bland. It looked and taste like they reheated the food from the previous day the gravy or whatever you would call it was very watery and thin, the goat wasn't tender and the rice was mushy as if they added water to the rice and reheated it. I could literally take a spoonful of rice in my hands and make rice balls out of it...there was absolutely no pumpkin flavor! My mom also said that something in her dish tasted sour or it was on the verge of going bad. So that night we ate maybe 3 spoonful of our meal and threw the rest in the garbage and said we will NEVER go back there. My second complaint is the black boxes they use to put the food in isn't practical at all! The side flaps on the box continue to rise up as I was trying to eat my meal, I literally had to constantly push the side of the flaps down with one hand and hold my spoon in the other hand while eating. At that point I was ANNOYED! They should consider in investing in plastic containers which would be...

Love Jamaican food. This is a clean causal spacious dine in or takeout. Staff was attentive and friendly they have a pretty large menu with lots of protein options.

I ordered a jerk pork, it comes with your choice of vegetables I chose steamed vegetables. It was primarily cabbage with some other vegetables steamed perfectly. I also got the rice and peas, and they added plantains. I also ordered a meat Patty the spicy one.

The pork was seasoned perfectly good notes of a mild jerk seasoning. The pork was definitely a fatty cut, but the fat was all rendered perfectly so it was decadent, but also delicious. The rice and peas were perfect both in cook and seasoning. Just the right amount of seasoning in the mild, perfectly steamed vegetables match so well to rich seasoned meat. The meat patty was not as good as the rest of the meal, but I'm also spoiled as I used to go to Jamaica Center in Jamaica Queens, NYC and get patties there.

A lot of times these Jamaican places have a buffet out front and the proteins get dried out and everything else gets soggy. That was not the case here everything tasted and was cooked to perfection. The oxtail sauce was really good. I'm definitely gonna order oxtail next time. All the staff were friendly and pleasant. It was a great experience and will...
