Houligan's Speedway — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

UPDATE. Google will not allow me to write another review of this restaurant even though my neighbor three doors down called me an 'Influencer'. They only allow me to edit.

So I left a review last week which I have found out from social media, Fox News and Orlando On Your Side was extremely controversial. I spoke the truth. I don't like the negative feedback so I'm glad my home address was not published. I fear for my safety.

I went back today. I didn't want to be recognized. Last time I went here I was quite stubbly and greased back with my hair. I work from home and don't think this day I actually showered. Stink? Not so much but fresh would be flattering.

Today I was crisp, smooth and smelled like the dude in the Old Spice commercials. Nightpanther was my scent. On my game.

Walked in and immediately saw finger girl and Melissa. I bumped into finger girl as she was at a table. Hindsight and finger girls history bumping into her was not wise. Luckily no reprecussions. I marched on to the bar.

Melissa was smiling and doing her thing. She didn't reckognize me so my disguise worked. Ordered my wings (all drum, extra blue cheese) and sipped my beer.

The girl I previously called Rachael, now finger girl, worked the room. I watched her intently almost to the point of being asked to leave the restaurant. I was on my game as she was. Today was different. She may have read my previous review.

Have you ever been to a wedding and all the groomsmen stand with their hands to their backside holding their own hands? If not it's so similiar to a funeral which ironically is well similiar.

Rachael kept her crazy finger hidden like she was at one of these events. I never saw this insanely massive middle finger so hiding it for her is a feat.

So as an influencer I have to report not much has changed here. Finger girl and Melissa still do their thing and absolutley represent Houligan's the best. I love this place. Food and staff. Go here. Ask for Melissa or the finger girl.

My hometown Houligan's is in Ormond Beach. Great bartenders here as well. They'll be on the cover of Sport's Illustrated the same time I'll be on the cover of a Fireman's calendar...you know what I'm saying. Great people, great food....can't ask for more. Peace.

I just ate lunch here today. Unplanned as I was just going to Home Depot for some guy stuff. Glad I stopped. Melissa was the bartender and waited on me. Immediately I saw she was having a great re-pour with others seated next to me. I travel a lot for work and have seen all types behind the bar. I don't necessarily need sparkling conversation from the bartender, but I do like to feel welcome. All too often this is hard to find. Melissa was great with everyone for a lunch time crowd. She serves Houigan's well. I will be back on a Thursday.

On the other hand there was another server who did not wait on me. For the purpose of this review I'll call her Rachael. She could have been a redhead, brunette, or blonde but it makes no difference. Hell she seemed like the type who would have pink hair.

Rachael seemed to have something going on with a finger on her right hand that stood out to me. From my vantage point to the drink pick up station it seemed like her middle finger was twice the size of a normal middle finger. Again, my eyesight sucks but her middle finger stood out on more than one occasion. She seemed to be doing her job but sitting at the bar eating my Wally style (all drum) wings it was a little bit strange seeing such a protruding middle finger on a server. I almost asked for a manger to explain.

Listen, I know we all have our physical imperfections, but seeing something like this while eating can be a little bit disturbing. That said, I pray for this server.

Lastly, thanks for a great lunch meal. You'll be lucky if you see me again. I mean you will...

A group of us recently had a party here celebrating a local tv show & the Daytona Beach PD. I cannot recommend Houligan’s Speedway enough. From the moment I got in touch with the manager Kadeem it was constant communication. Kadeem was absolutely wonderful & always available to answer any question I had day or night. I asked Kadeem to basically make all of the decisions because I have no clue how to coordinate a party, what a great choice that was. The room was gorgeous, clean & absolutely perfect for what we needed. We booked the upstairs room & had our own private bathroom and an elevator for those that can’t do stairs. We also had our own bar with two wonderful bartenders named Amanda & Erin. They were so sweet and so helpful to us, it was an absolute pleasure spending the evening with them. They even came in on their night off and stayed late. Our view from upstairs was amazing & overlooked Daytona International Speedway. The food Kadeem picked for us was absolutely delicious and I can see why Wally’s wings are so popular, they’re addictive. All of the food was delicious. Because this was a watch party for a tv show it was great to have tvs all over the walls and to be able to watch our show when we wanted but we were so busy having fun we didn’t watch a lot. Also the show stays on until midnight and they were nice enough to stay open late for us. I honestly felt more important & taken care of than I did at the hall I booked on my wedding day. We all had a wonderful time & are already planning next years party there. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and if you’re planning to have a party here you will not be...

Sunday October 29th we were greeted by the hostess (with glasses) and asked where we would like to sit, we explained that we would like to sit outside and she mentioned the high tops were open seating and we had mentioned we wanted a low top and she took us outside to the patio and showed what low tops were available and not to sit at the first three tables since she was making it into a 9 top. We were then seated by her in a low top next to those tables. Then we sat and sat and sat and still had no service even tho the server in that section (chunky fella with sleeve tattoos) walked in and out without helping us at all. Then I walk inside to ask if we could have a server, the hostess says she will find out what’s going on and why it’s taking so long at this point it is 25 minutes without any service. Then out comes Olivia (training manager) saying that it was our fault we sat there. Blaming the customer for their lack of service which is ridiculous as someone who’s been involved in the restaurant management business you never berate a customer like that. And then I explained to Olivia that we were sat there by her hostess, then she goes and gets the server for that section. The whole time there was no apology from any of the staff. Unacceptable in all my times eating at this Houligan’s location I’ve never had this awful of an experience. Never again will I be dining at this location and recommend others try the various other restaurants in the close proximity to this Houligan’s. Whoever is the operating partner for this location needs to give their entire staff a refresher on...
