A Truly High-Class Dining Experience!
My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful mother-daughter mini-vacation, and our evening at Hyde Park Restaurant was one of the highlights—thanks in large part to our phenomenal server, McKinley.
From the moment we arrived just before 6 p.m., we were met with warm hospitality and a relaxed, elegant ambiance. We chose to sit in the dining room rather than the bar (so we missed out on Happy Hour pricing for drinks), but we were rewarded with a stunning view of the beach that made it completely worth it.
We both ordered from the Early Night Menu, which includes two courses. My daughter had the Chicken Milanese and Lobster Bisque, while I opted for the Classic Baked Onion Soup and Chopped Steak. Everything was beautifully prepared, but the Chicken Milanese truly stole the show—perfectly cooked with just the right amount of flavor (not too heavy on the capers). The Lobster Bisque was rich and creamy, and the Onion Soup was one of the best I’ve had—flavorful, cheesy, and not greasy at all. The Chopped Steak was tasty too, though not my personal favorite simply because I’m not a fan of brown gravy. The mashed potatoes and crispy onion strings on the side were excellent!
Our cocktails were equally delightful. I had A Star Is Born, which reminded me of a margarita-meets-mai-tai fusion, and my daughter had the White Pear—both were creative, well-balanced, and delicious. What impressed me most was how McKinley expertly described the ingredients while pouring our drinks at the table. I complimented him on this, and he replied, “That’s what high-class service is like.” Well, he absolutely delivered on that promise.
McKinley's timing was impeccable throughout the entire evening. He was attentive without being intrusive, and he made us feel welcome and unhurried, even after we had finished our meal. His calm, respectful energy and attention to detail elevated our experience and left a lasting impression.
Now, the only downside—and this had nothing to do with McKinley—was an odd interaction with another server. After we requested to-go boxes, this second server approached and insisted on boxing our food for us. While we appreciated the gesture, he placed the metal breadbasket directly onto my plate of food. Even if it had just been cleared from the table and appeared clean, it’s simply not sanitary or visually appropriate to put something like that on top of food. My daughter politely explained that it was unsanitary, but he disagreed. It was an uncomfortable moment in an otherwise flawless night. Thankfully, McKinley returned with the proper boxes, and we were able to pack up our delicious leftovers ourselves.
In summary, Hyde Park Restaurant offers outstanding food, gorgeous views, and exceptional service. McKinley went above and beyond to make our evening special, and I sincerely hope management recognizes what a gem they have in him. We will definitely return—and next time, I’m ordering that...
Read moreWhen i think about my experience at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse in Daytona Beach, FL inside the Hilton is nothing but exceptional. Why? Other than being a 5-star restaurant with nothing but the best of the best here, let's take a trip on my experience on my birthday here. As a first-time customer that my concierge services suggested and booked for my birthday dinner. They hit the mark on being the best of the best on my special day. I have traveled all over the world doing reviews the last 8 years, and this experience is top. From the moment my wife and I drove into the valet parking only at the Hilton Hotel, which the restaurant validates with reservation, so it is free. To being warmly welcome by Mr. Black and his staff at the check-in, nothing but professional etiquette. I was seated at one of the best seats in the restaurant facing the beach ocean views with the sunset looking through the big windows. We had to go out and take pictures with the sunset, which one of two of our waiters happily offered to do. Yes, we had two top-notch male servers for the best service possible and needs we could have wanted. They were always one step ahead of us, always offering excellent taste from the wine to pair which the Japanese Wygu steak which I highly recommend when with the 170 dollar price tag it's worth it to the fresh fish. We were also greeted with lamb on the bone for starters. My wife has never seen this fine dining at its best like the Hyde Park, but she loved it just as much as I did with experience.
The best part of the experience on the table when we sat down was a card saying " happy birthday" with a card from all the staff signed. I was like "wow" never had a high-end restaurant do that before. It made my night and extra special from this staff.
The food was delicious, cooked to perfection, and the Japanese Wygu steak came with a letter of authentication too, which was cool, and the actual chef brought it to use greeting use. We got sides of garlic mashed potatoes and cream corn, but the portions were so big we took most of it home.
For dessert, I went with the cream brulee, and the staff brought out a marshmallow dessert she loved too.
The one thing I saw on the large drink list that told me this restaurant is the top was they carry high in liquor like Macallan.
To the management, chef, and staff, you impressed me the most in my travels and have my loyalty when I come into town in the future with clients.
Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely Would I return? Absolutely

Read moreI preface this review by saying the food is absolutely delicious. Some of the best I've ever had and we will likely come back to eat in person. But I had an awful experience here and never received a response from the restaurant, and this needs to be noted.
They offer various "specials" throughout the year, one of which is the Easter Dinner. This was advertised as a package - for $309 you get a Tenderloin, Wedge Salad, Whipped Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and a Chocolate Torte meal. Since we invited our whole family to enjoy this, we added a side of corn pancetta and a side of asparagus. So $349 plus taxes, paid in advance.
My husband went to pick this up on the scheduled day and they gave him a bag and he came home. When he got home and I saw he only had one bag, I was confused and upon opening it, I noticed that the only thing they had given us was the tenderloin, the corn pancetta and the asparagus. None of the sides that were supposed to come with the package had been provided. Since it was picked up on Saturday afternoon and we live two hours away, Easter brunch was scheduled the next afternoon. He'd already spent four hours driving to pick up this meal and doing it again wasn't an option on such short notice, so I had to go to the grocery store and purchase a host of sides to prepare so we would have enough food for everyone.
I emailed them on that Saturday night and again later that week after not receiving a response. I then called and spoke with someone at the restaurant about a possible partial refund, they took my information but no one would ever respond. Emails were not answered, I emailed their corporate headquarters and did not receive a response either.
This was such a glaring lack of customer service and I was truly disappointed. I looked like a fool in front of my family that I had promised a special dinner but wasn't able to deliver even though I had paid for it. I work roughly 14-16 hrs a day, I don't have spare time to shop, to prep, to cook daily meals, much less for a holiday meal and it's an insult that I paid so much money for a dinner only to have to spend almost half that again to buy sides that were not provided.
We had a wonderful meal there with excellent service in person, not a few weeks before. But be warned, if you decide to order their meal packages, please be sure to check behind them - open every package to make sure what you've paid for is inside because they will not respond to you if you happen to trust they've given you what you've ordered only discover they haven't, once...
