Ok first of all, I would love to give this hotel a 5 star review but sadly I cannot.
They have a major problem with their ac units because they are SO loud! And you end up jumping all through the night as it turns on and off. It sounded like we were at an airport runway in all honesty. The ac is from the 80s or something like that! Why? The hotel is so nice inside and they haven't upgraded the ac's? Sleep is the most important thing when people vacation and sadly we will not be able to stay here again unless they change up all their ac's to new systems! :(
So for anyone who has sound sensitivities like me it might be best to avoid this hotel for that reason.
We booked the oceanfront room and the view was beautiful BUT as you enter the balcony you will hear all the other ac units humming loudly instead of hearing the relaxing ocean sound. That wasn't what I was hoping for.
Another issue they have is as you arrive at the hotel entrance it is not welcoming or pretty looking it is just bland. They could have tried to decorate with pots of plants or something. The biggest issue is on the opposite side which is an abandoned construction site! So much rusted metal and trash right where you can view it from the hotel entrance!?? I was so worried as we entered the hotel entrance because it looked like a wasteyard and I expected the hotel to be a dump inside!
But to my surprise as we went onto the escalators and got up to the lobby I saw something totally different and was really surprised & impressed! The bar was spacious and comfy looking with so many seating options, there is a small place to buy snacks and stuff at. I could view the pool from the lobby too. It was a breath of fresh air after that horrible entrance moment.
Are they looking to give us an element of surprise? To have the customer get scared and want to leave to another hotel? To only be surprised at how nice it looks inside? Just weird! They really need to fix that first impression issue big time! I have never stayed at any hotel that had such a messy entrance.
Barternders inside and by the pool were awesome at what they do, all drinks were perfection. Food was great too!
Drinks I recommend are: COASTAL COJITI (my favorite drink of them all) Banana Ball (worth trying at least once!) ABSOLUT WAVE (had this at the pool bar, great for 2 ppl) FROZEN ORANGE CREAMSICLE (this was perfect! Not too sweet too) GRANDE BLUE ZOMBIE
Food I recommend: TWELVE INCH CHEESE PIZZA LOCAL GREENS SALAD (great mix of vegetables) CHICKEN QUESADILLAS (loved it, it comes with fries although it isn't written on menu) Truffle fries (yummy!)
The pool is very lovely, you can stare at the ocean as you swim 🥂 cannot beat the view. The music playing was nice and not super loud which we appreciated big time. Enough chairs and loungers for everyone. I especially enjoyed the daybeds that overlooked the ocean 💕snuggle sessions while relaxing💕yes please! (wish they would put cushions to rest up against though).
Pool bathrooms were horrible though. Toilet paper had finished and even paper towels. It just seems like they don't check it that often. Which is odd since people are drinking a lot by the pool so you'd expect them to be ontop of keeping the bathrooms prepared!
The tile at the pool is slippery and I had to walk carefully after swimming. They need to change that to something safer especially with kids being around.
The sand at the ocean is so soft and comfy feeling between your toes, there are so many cute birds trying to find food in the sand all over the beach.
There are some guys nearby on the beach who rent out chairs and umbrellas but they close at 5pm. 20$ for 2 chairs + umberella for 1 hour. 👍🏻
We opted to park our car ourselves in their parking lot which was a cheaper daily fee than using...
Read moreThis is our 3 stay and the it was a fail for us. August 6,2024 *. 1 star for this hotel operations
I wanted to wait before posting about our favorite hotel 😞 it has been 6 days and I am still steaming about it but I promise to tone it down.
I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 1 star for the operations of the hotel, room service and the pool bar!! I will still keep my 4 stars rating for the bellman and front desk and lobby bar.
Another stay from July 25 to July 30. Ocean Front king bedroom with balcony and overall I will give it a big FAIL!! We love this location and the amenities. Kudos to the front desk, bell stand and lobby bar staff. But other than that this location needs major re-training of the staff including the Operations manager and how sad!! Babies in the pool in their diapers!! Adults with their drinks dripping saliva and some of their drinks in the pool! Major cleaning of the pool deck during the open hours of the pool while guests are trying to enjoy their sunbathing!! I will post pictures of that horrifying morning!! What a poor management!! The pool bar does not have fans for the employees and those employees are taking it on the guests by snapping at them, poor service and just being plain rude!! The lobby coffee bar is another area where major training for customer service is needed!! If I want a half cup of coffee I will ask for a small coffee but do not serve half cup and charge me for a full one when I do t even need room for the milk!! And then when I ask for a full cup after being dipped for couple of days the employee gave us the lip service!!! At the pool bar, we asked if we can order food at 10:45 am. The pool bar attendant said we do not serve food until 11 am. So we purchased 2 drinks and asked for the bill but she refused to close our check because she said if we are going to order food the tab needs to stay open!! How lazy and rude! We asked 3 times before she finally agreed to close our tab and we decided not to go back and order lunch!! Who argues with the guest when they want to close their tab unless you are plain lazy!! The best one was when we ordered 2 pizzas via room service. Not only they were under cooked and tasteless but they were delivered in a card board box with plastic utensils and no napkins or plates. We decided to keep them until we realized they were barely cooked and when I took them downstairs to the restaurant and complained the manger snapped at me quote “we do not send plates or silverware to the rooms” and so I asked not even paper plates and without making eye contact he nosed NO!! So I asked for my refund and I got it. This is not a motel! But this visit felt like it was a motel service at high end hotel prices! I do not believe we will be back or recommend this place.
This was our first stay at this location. The rooms are clean and the vue was fabulous! I am so glad to finally see hotels with no carpets in the rooms, and a walk in shower with floors that are not slippery. The decor was very inviting and the staff were fantastic too. The only complaint I have is that on Friday and Saturday there were no security patrolling the pool area despite how busy it was with kids and adults without writs bands and then on Sunday 2 gentlemen came to the pool area and started asking each and everyone to put their arm bands in and even shouted at couple of people. We were no more than a dozen gusts at the pool all adults and they went from one person to another asking for the band to be worn. We felt that was odd that on Friday and Saturday that was not done. The security Guys made a guest take their water cooler needed to be kept outside the pool area. Other than this, our stay was wonderful and the food was good too. We will come...
Read moreWe stayed here for several nights last week as an early anniversary getaway. Overall, I would rate this as a 3⭐️. However, with claiming to be a "Four Star" hotel, I expect better, and should have rated it as a 2⭐️ In any case, below is my personal opinion of our stay. (Very long, but wanted to be thorough.)
Pros: -The smell when walking in the lobby is so good! Every time my husband and I entered the lobby, we commented on how good it smelled. -The hotel itself is fairly new, and it shows. Rooms, restaurant, pool, etc all look very nice and are modern and up to date. Of course being so new, everything still Looks new. -Beautiful view! Thankfully the weather was wonderful while we were there (if even a little chilly at times). We had a balcony room facing the water. We left our door open overnight and were able to enjoy the sounds of the waves while we slept. Also, so relaxing to wake up and have coffee outside on the balcony, watching the sunrise over the horizon. -The bread service in the dining room was so warm and fresh! The truffle fries were also good.
Cons: -Service was Not good! And sadly, it was not even localized to one person or even one area. The first night there, we had dinner inside at the hotel's Abalone Restaurant. The majority of the food was just ok. About halfway through our meal, my water glass was completely empty, as was my wine glass, for over 10 minutes, at least! We literally had to go and Find the server to ask for refills! The second night we ate outside, again at the Abalone. Server was a little better. Food was Not good. My husband ordered the steak cooked medium, and it was well done. I got the seared tuna and it was So dry and flavorless. Also, being dinner outside, they have little lights on the table to provide some light. About halfway through the meal, our light went out. Server never offered to replace battery or get us a new one, so we finished our meal in the dark. (They have several fire pits in the dining area as well, but only one was actually working, and there were quite a few little children sitting around it.) The third night, we ended up walking down the beach to another restaurant because we couldn't bear another meal at the hotel. -The pool bar service was no better. The first day we went down and sat at the bar, waiting for one of the 3 bartenders to take our order. Multiple other people came up after us and had their orders taken before us. The second day we went, we were relaxing in one of the cabanas, and I went up to get my husband and myself a drink. My order was taken, but as I was waiting for the drinks, the bartender hands someone else a couple of drinks and then says to me, "Oops, sorry. I gave your drinks away." The other bartender said to her, "You're not supposed to say that!". I get it, mistakes happen. But then she gave me whatever leftover frozen drink was in the blender form my original drink. It wasn't even filled up! -On the last day we were there, we went to the front desk to ask for more coffee cups as ours hadn't been replaced the day before. The lady told us that she didn't have them there, but she would send someone right up to give them to us. We waited in our room for an Hour wasting our time for someone to come, but they never did. Eventually, we left for dinner and they still hadn't been brought to our room when we returned. We asked Again at the desk for cups and were told they'd be right up. We eventually just ended up going to sleep as it was late, and thankfully they were there on the Ground outside of our room the next morning.
-Overall, I don't know if I would stay at this hotel again. I'm not sure pretty decor makes up for such horrible service, especially...
