Our balcony view of the sunrise was magnificent! We got some awesome views of the sunrise and watched several pods of dolphins hunting for fish. The condo we rented was ocean front with the pool and lazy river just below us. Unfortunately, for us, we were sandwiched between two obnoxious neighbors. The neighbors to the south of us were heavy cigarette and pot smokers so we weren't able to utilize the balcony as much as we would have liked to. There were also some other neighbors one floor above us and to the South who's smoke from their marijuana kept blowing onto the balcony. Being asthmatic, I'm not able to tolerate smoke. Then in the 2 (adjoining) units immediately north of us there was a group of nine women. They partied constantly, played loud music and even were yelling and screaming and slamming doors in the hallway late into the night. On Friday night apparently, one lady arrived late (midnight) and the whole group went down to meet her, yelling, screaming, and slamming doors as they left. When they came up and were walking in the hallway outside our bedroom window they were all talking loudly, screaming, cackling, and must have been dragging her suitcase against the outside of our bedroom wall then down the shared hallway. People just have no consideration for others anymore, it seems. The women, also, had several smokers and were smoking pot constantly on their balcony. When we drove up to the front, we did so as we had done on our previous visit. A woman from the parking podium came over and YELLED at us that we drove right by her and didn't stop to see her first!! There were no visible direction signs and her podium is in the MIDDLE of the two lane circle drive. She said we have to back up and drive to her podium. Mind you, we were on a steep incline. Just then another car pulled in, and yet she made us back up and navigate the obstacles just to drive up to her podium. We did so even though it was a little difficult. When we pulled up to her podium and she had a clipboard and asked for our name. We gave her our name and she checked us off. This took all of 5 seconds at the most to do. Then she said, “You need to BACKUP (again) and pull up to the doors to check in." So she had us back up twice just to pull back up to the spot we were in originally. She was very rude and I think that what she did was uncalled for. She could have just as easily brought her little clipboard over to us and checked us off not made us back up twice. We were the ONLY vehicle in the area when we first arrived. I think it was some kind of Napoleon power play on her part. I'm not sure what her issue was, but she was NOT a nice person. Then we had the issue with Carley at the front desk. She was totally unprofessional. Although our host assured us of an early check in, when we went to the front desk, Carley said there was no request for an early check in so we'd have to come back at 4:00pm or our host would have to call her personally to request it. When we called our host she was livid that Carley did not follow directions. We walked back in to the front desk where Carley was yelling and arguing with the host on the phone. (Carley stopped and told us our host was on the phone.) Whatever the issue was between Wyndham's procedures and our host should have been resolved in private. I'm going to make an assumption here that there is a spot on the reservation form where a condo owner/host can add notes such as, " An early check-in of 1:pm for guests". What I'm also assuming is that there is a way for the associates at the Wyndham to be able to check those notes, but it might take an extra action to navigate to that point. In preparing for the days check-ins, it would behoove the desk attendants to thoroughly check all notations but most likely is always overlooked. The guests should not be traumatized by the front desk attendant, yelling on the phone then ranting, raving, and slandering the owners of the condo to our faces. We were tremendously upset by her actions and even walked away momentarily. SHAME ON...
Read moreBEWARE: Misleading Timeshare Presentation Disguised as a Workshop At check-in you will be offered a 45-minute “workshop” in exchange for a monetary gift. We said no - since we are well versed on timeshare sales pitches - and was told they have moved away from sales presentations to a workshop format designed to educate and mamimize our timeshare offerings for better travel. Be cautious - there is NO QUESTION it is a sales presentation for a timeshare option! They were dishonest with the entire presentation agenda and expectations to ensure attendance. We should have known better when they called 3 times and dropped off a written reminder to ensure we remembered our appointment.
My partner and I attended the workshop for timeshare owners, only to discover it was nothing more than a deceptive sales presentation. The experience was incredibly disappointing filled with misleading statements and tactics that seemed not only unethical but also left us feeling confused about the value of our timeshare ownership.
The presentation began with claims that our timeshare would soon only have 8 Outrigger properties to choose from; effective January 15, 2025—an obvious ploy to manipulate attendees into feeling desperate. We were told over 90% of properties we are used to seeing available for booking with our timeshare were already moved over to Time + Leisure. If we didn't invest we would be very limited with what we could do with our existing timeshare. We should be like the 95% of owners who choose to enroll in the new website and booking system and join today with a pre-enrollment offer. Its a ONE-TIME ONLY OFFER and if we declined today we would have to purchase at “regular retail pricing.”
We were told Time + Leisure spent 6.2 billion to improve its offerings to owners. The newly improved system included using points for air travel, hotels, cruises and all-inclusive holidays. A total of 800,000 owners have joined since the “acquisition” and we should consider joining while it is still available. The speaker repeatedly asserted, “We’ve spoken to our members and fixed all the things they hate about timeshares.” When I asked who these members were—since I was never consulted—I was brushed off with the same empty statement. It was clear they hadn’t actually sought input from owners like me.
Throughout the session, I was required to sign off on understanding several points, but every time I asked clarifying questions, the presenter would dismiss me, saying, “I already explained that.” This created a cat-and-mouse dynamic designed to confuse rather than inform. When I asked why we were attending a workshop if it wasn’t actually about understanding or improving our timeshare, I was handed a document. I was told I needed to sign and date it (it also included timestamps for each of the areas she “covered in the presentation” that I had to agree to) to review a “pre-enrollment offer for consideration.” When I asked what the document meant, the response was vague—essentially, I had to sign it just to find out.
To make matters worse, after the document was taken to another individual, a closer—a high-pressure salesperson—came over to present “an offer.” At no point was there any meaningful discussion about Club Wyndham or actionable insights for timeshare owners. Instead, this “workshop” culminated in a high-pressure sales pitch designed to trap attendees into making impulsive decisions.
The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch scam. Promising a workshop and delivering a sales presentation is unethical, and the use of manipulation and misleading tactics left a bad taste in my mouth. This wasn’t just disappointing—it was infuriating. Such deceptive practices exploit people’s trust and time, eroding any confidence I had in the company.
To anyone considering attending one of these “workshops,” beware. It’s not a workshop. It’s a carefully orchestrated ploy to push you into a sale, leaving you more confused than informed. This kind of dishonesty deserves scrutiny and...
Read moresooo this is supposed to be the best hotel on the board walk. it was definitely the opposite. while my mother was getting my groups wrist bands we went up with the employee taking our stuff to our room, before we even got out of the lobby this security gaurd (old white lady with short hair) stopped my entire group making hand gestures at us and speaking rudely and the employee with us literally had to make her stop and tell her he was bringing us up the room and our wrist bands will be on soon. Another incident with the same lady happened, there were about 20 people in the hot tub under the balconies and everyone was feeling what we thought was rain until the people in the hot tub looked up and saw teenagers pooring beer and spitting on everyone down there. That security guard came over (don’t know her name) made everyone get out the hot tub lied that there was a leak going into the LL (my friend went down there to check after the caution tape was put up). then more employees or security came out and were asking about the beer and spitting i told them there were four teenage boys hanging their head out of the 10th floor lobby (also not the only one saying this everyone in the hot tub was agreeing) my friend was point to them and the old white lady security gaurd told her to sit down and keep her fingers to herself so she can see where her coworker was pointing (he wasent there we were so he had no idea what he was pointing at) i showed them a video of the boys hanging there head out the window and holding up the finger, security apparently went up there and talk to them and the boys said that they didn’t do it when i had a whole video of them. also when they came back down to tell us that a brunette girl told me “if you know it was for sure them come to the front lobby and tell us”. i just showed you a video and there is atleast 10 other people telling you the same thing i’m here to have fun not deal with that it’s your job to deal with that. By the way being extra extra money because everything there cost so much a grilled cheese was almost 20 dollars… also there i asked for a water cup because our room had no water there no water fountains no water out anywhere. they charge two dollars for a plastic cup of water thankfully the lady working was nice and gave me some water for free (that’s need to live everyone needs water def when ur on the beach) They kept closing the pools also probably every 3 hours. the lack of hospitality was disgusting. don’t even get me started on trying to leave that place on sunday we were coming out the parking garage (also all the trash cans in there are over flowing, there are people parking on the sides we’re ur supposed to drive and we had to drive all the way to the top to get a stop that would fit our truck, when we did find a spot some suv parked in the same spot as us they were in our lines of the spot) coming out the garage the loop or whatever they have going on at the front was a nightmare it was awful people would not let us out, it was backed up bc they weren’t letting people in it was horrible but then this man named Jeremy he made people back up and move so we could leave, he was out there in the rain escorting the cars (ONLY REAL PERSON THERE) thank you so much jeremy you were the best worker there....
